The theme for this month's HOARD is Kids vs ... This can be any sort of miniature figure or model on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your entries, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category. Entries for the Hoard will be accepted until the last day of May, 2019. Oh! You meddling kids! You messed up everything. Kids vs Bad Guys, Kids vs Monsters, Kids vs Kids, Kids vs the World This can be a lot of fun

If I could draw, I'd make a set of monsters with removable head masks, so you can reveal the bad guys behind the monster masks... like the creepy and dangerous howling werewolf that in the end (removing the mini's werewolf head) turns out to be Mr. Jonasson, the self-loving art teacher who deems himself to be a modern age Rembrandt whose pictures should be in the museum instead of those crappy old masters thingies he just stole (over the course of the last few months)...

You know what? This is a very doable mod. You just take some "open source" bulky monsters, put their heads to one side and replace them with some "open source" civilian heads. then you build the monster heads like envelopes that slip over the civilian heads. You just need to find an artist (or a few artists with compatible styles) who have done both monsters and no-helmet humans. There must be some around here somewhere...

Have to see, if I find time for that... Maybe I will, once my regular work is done.

Okay, so i browsed through the minis that I have on my HDD to see, if there'd be enough material for a set of "Demasked Masked Maniacs", and there is. All minis will be – as almost always in my modded sets – from okumarts, and I will try to put together 5 or 6 of the most regular options of "evil and bad" adults, meddling kids will usually face... Aside from that, I had the idea of creating a shelter for a group of young detectives/adventurers. Usually, our young heroes have some sort of shed, cellar, room, etc. where they go to think over their case... Being from Germany, and growing up during the late 70's and 80's, I came to enjoy our huge culture of audio plays for kids and teens, at the time usually sold on tapes. Three series of meddling kids stories have been (and are still) running wild as audio plays here in Germany: Enid Blyton's Famous Five, TKKG (a German group of four kids around age 15, three boys, one girl, and her dog), and the infamous Three Investigators. Even though all three series are really famous among kids and teens in Germany, especially The Three Investigator are held dear by the fans. There are only about 40 books in the US-original, but the series was and still is continued here in Germany. The audio plays alone have been produced since 1979 and are now, 40 years later, nearing the 200 episodes mark – and I'm still listening... Fun fact: The main characters are still voiced by the same voice actors (who funnily are also the German dubbing voices of Ben Stiller, Edward Norton, and Patton Oswald). So, as you may or may not know, the Three Investigators are operating from the junkyard of Jupiter Jones' uncle and aunt, where they have an old trailer hidden behind piles of junk that is stuffed like a detective's office incl. a small lab and darkroom. Now, since I know the series so well, I thought, the Three Investigators' HQ would be the perfect hideout to recreate, so I'll try that, too – turning May into just another PlaSeBuilMo... The original US books and... ...the first 89 of the German books. A version of the basic layout of the Three Investigators' HQ.

I will see if I can release something game-wise. I put out Radical Kids as a response to all of this sort of thing. I already have a set of minis out.

Maybe I should go back to my first idea. I thought about doing a car pulled by a dog.
Gave up on that, because they needed a Private Eye Office. Now that seems to be covered, so back to the car

I did not draw this Pteranodon, I adapted it from a much larger and more complicated model I downloaded years ago. I f anybody knows the name of the artist, please chime in. The original dimensions of the image for the body png are 174x574 pixels and are tight. the wings have a little white areound the edges but the image png is 255x390. I hope you can use this. I left some notes about basing it over on another forum horde page accidentally. One thing I forgot to mention about this mini is that you have to guard them from your cats. I have lost two so far.

Thanks for the artist information. I have attempted to make contact. I noted that he did not claim to be the original artist either, but to have taken an original image an adapted it much as I have. Nonetheless I have informed him of the changes I made and told him that if he wishes I will remove the image. Are there any other steps I should take?

Well, once again working on a Hoard entry got sidelined by working on stuff I have an immediate use for. Maybe I'll have last Hallowern's entry ready by this Halloween.
Sorry about that.

I'll upload the shed tomorrow, and fix the HQ of the Three Investigators on Sunday. Sorry to blow the finish line a little bit, but I hate typing up instructions...

Sadly, it won't be long enough for the HQ of the Three Investigators. Real life came crashing in with a busload of work... I'll post the trailer, once it's finished, in my projects folder. B U T !!! Here's the shed... Download THE SHED here...Included in the set is the shed, an optional outhouse (with WC), 4 meddling kids (thanks to okumarts for allowing the mod), a kitchen, a fridge, a couch, 3 armchairs, an empty table, and a table with a running D&D game incl. an additional DM screen. The shed and the outhouse are collapsable and can be stored fold-flat. The furniture need to be stored in a separate box (not included). Have fun!

Also, I totally forgot about the de-masked monsters... I guess, I'll save those for the Halloween hoard.

WOW! I can't wait to build that shed. I want to mod make a bunch of them for a near future shanty town. The ground area of the main shed is 3 by 4 squares, the out house is 1 by 1. However, I use 3 cm squares instead of 1 inch ones, so the shed comes down to 9 by 12 cm... I like the idea of modding it into various versions for a shanty town or gold rush boom town or something like that... Post pictures!

I originally had been thinking younger kids, not teens where at least one can drive legally, but thinking more like Scooby Gang age, I started looking through my library at cars that are pretty lame. I saw this Ford model that was issued when that icon The Pinto was introduced. I don't think they need the vinyl roof or any of the 'sport' stuff. It needs to be bare-bones basic. I did decide to change the color, but I didn't completely clean it up. Think of it as rust starting and grime. I ended up having to re-draw more than I anticipated. I was going to change it to traditional tabs, but I think this can't really be in the Hoard, since it isn't my model. Haven't really changed enough of it at this point. I collected some Three Investigators logos to add to it, but didn't know if we needed to keep it more generic EDIT -- Here's what I did with the logos
