I've started a Patreon make a few things more self-sustaining, there is absolutely no obligation to join. Cardboard Warriors Patreon
Hello you can call me Squirmydad and I am the current steward of the Cardboard Warriors kingdom. Many artists start Patreons to raise funds to support their work and to directly engage with their fans, this is not one of those Patreons. This is a Patreon that I am starting so that I can continue to support the work of paper miniature and paper model artists. I run a forum called Cardboard Warriors;
The website is chock full of all sorts of free downloads and tutorials and has been added to on a monthly basis since 2008. Most of what is on the site comes from the Forum and all of the great artists who share their work there. Every month there is a different theme that artists can submit their works to called the Forum Hoards, you may have seen them on Instagram. Additionally there is an annual competition called the Papercuts Showcase with a variety of categories whose winners are chosen by the community and receive actual cash prizes.
Many community members have approached me and offered to assist with funds for the Forum, the site, and the Showcase, which is why I've started this Patreon. If you would like to support these endeavors and potentially help them grow then do sign up for this Patreon.
How much does all of this cost;
Cardboard Warriors Forum storage= $72.00/year
One Monk site= $354.00/year
Papercuts prizes= $310.00/annual
Total expenses = $736.00/year
What do you get for supporting this Patreon? Satisfaction that you are assisting a community of artists. Maybe I can make some Patreon exclusive downloads, but no promises, I'd rather continue contibruting to the publicly available Forum Hoards.
If you would like to support me directly you can purchase my products here;
I really like this, and even though my budget prevents me from supporting the Patreon, perhaps we could open up a thread where we, the forum community, post a design or some minis now and then, so you can use them as Patreon Payback... (or we could simply use this thread )
That's cool, but the Forum Hoards are already a great giveaway for people who love this hobby. The Patreon was an idea for people who wanted to help with the costs of maintaining the kingdom.
I know, but you know how (many (most?)) people think Patreon (or crowdfunding in general, for that matter) works: I give a few bucks and get a busload of stuff in return.
I myself would love to support our community via Patreon, but I'm on a really tight budget that does not allow any more monthly expenses. However, if I can support your Patreon effort by creating something that you can give the people who give money to keep this show up and running, I'd be more than willing and honored to do so.

I'll jump in on it bro! I've gotten so much enjoyment out of these sites and this community over the years. Whenever I'm down or my arthritis is hurting really badly I can come here and someone always has something fun cooking!
Vermin King: It does help keep you from picking up unintended hitchhiker files, though. It would be better if they gave a notification that you are attempting to download multiple files and to check the box in front of each file you wish to download

cowboyleland: I see now. Some new upgrade (windows? chrome?) blocks downloads of "multiple files" at a time. The miniscule notification that the download was blocked appears in the corner of the screen for a fraction of a second. "They" call this progress.

cowboyleland: Hm. Ok, turns out I have it on a back-up drive already anyway.

cowboyleland: For some reason Hoard 93 isn't downloading for me. No error message, just nothing happens when I click.

Vermin King: Every so often a Thank You goes a long way. Ray over at Ravensblight is going through a dark time ( I know. Dark is kinda his theme ), but if you appreciate his work, you might go to the site and grab his email and send him a Thank You
