My exacto knife is my most used tool. I bring it to work along with my tamiya modeling nippers inside whatever plastic model kit box I bring. I cut the pieces out with the cutters and I clean the cut with my exacto knife. This is very effective and the only problem I find with it then is user error.
However, strangely enough, the blade tip breaks off quite often when I'm papercrafting. The only reason I havent gone bankrupt from them is because my dad gave me is pack of 50 or something.
As you might know, the blade tip is the most needed and used part in papercrafting. When it's gone, you may as well use an axe. Ofc, I save the broken-tip blades for other uses, but the blade is useless for papercrafting.
I figure you guys with all your experience probably use some god-tier stuff, and I think it's high time I invested in some pro equipment myself. My handle could just be bad but it also likes to unscrew often. Might benefit from a different shape too.
I use to use this super heavy diecast boxcutter for this but it proved too clunky for something as delicate as papercrafting. The blades last a long time with heavy use though. Maybe you know where I can find some high quality exacto knife blades or something?
I'm also dealing with a bit of a problem with my super fat sharpie. Its size is perfect but even with the 110 lb cardstock I'm using, it seeps through enough to be quite visible when I line the edges and flaps. This doesnt always happen if I do it quickly, but there are some areas that require great precision. Are there any specialty markers I can get my hands on out there that would solve my problems? I know part of it is that I'm just not that good yet, but this hobby uses a lot of ink and a lot of expensive paper. It's also time consuming and tedious, so a specialty tool would prove useful. Maybe I just need to buy a grey one instead of a black one, but I cant find any single grey markers that fit the job at stores. Havent looked online yet...
Thanks!
Ps, I'm starting up on my ebbles apc again and its looking good so far!
