I like photos like this. Where the focus is pulling your attention to what's in store for the Marines & kobold? Focusing on the interesting parts, be it the action of something unsaid is important. I think I'd back the camera away and focus on a point in between the front models & the ones in the background. This way more of your arrangement will be in focus.

The only thing that really bothers me on the bottom image is that you used a flash. It sort of flattens everything out and adds harsh shadows. Otherwise both images are fine.
Looked like a fun game.

If you picked up Hinterland from Worldworks, they have a really nice wall of forest that you can print out and use as backdrops for this sort of thing.
Keep working on it though. Very few people have the will power and energy to practice and get good at miniature photography. It would be really cool for battle reports! Although it does require a little investment in lights and such to get really good results. JIM

There's actually a few things I want to do, but my printer is out of ink. Almost. I have plenty of black though Ya, it does. That was actually a test pic, I only posted it to show what the area looked like. I didn't any good pics that try without the flash at that angle. I want to move the building up a little along with those boxes. Maybe some of your harvest plants from last halloween in the background behind the fence. If I do that I'll change to the smaller van gogh background (or the power plant or solar plant (surreal, used to work there)), the last one he did. And finish my fence. And I'll need villagers. I'm thinking about making another set in the other place with the better lights, a ruined temple and a bunch of my rocks
