I’ve been tinkering with a simple wargame rule set to play with my kid and, for some stupid reason, I decided to make the units origami. And things have kind of blossomed from there. I know origami is not the usual fare here but I was hoping to get some feedback. I’ve tried to make the models as simple as possible so anyone would be able to fold them.
The idea is to print the units on colored copy paper for the side you are playing
I've paired the two sides with similar but distinctive units that are recognizable analogs
one set of units is for SUDO (analog for NATO) and the other is Fauxsaw (Warsaw Pact)
*T.R.O.O.P.* - Tactical Reconnaissance Objective Observation Personnel & *G.R.U.N.T.* - Ground Reaction Unit Neutralization Team
Very interesting. Have you considered texturing them?
I had considered adding some shadows but not fully texturing them, just the line art. I was looking for simple and easy on the ink and I am thinking that the colored paper will change how the colored inks will present.
I'm not really shying away from the idea that they are made of paper, in fact, it's baked in. I'ts origami war. I wanted to call it "Warigami" but, believe it or not, that name is already taken. So I have settled on the name "Pulp Faction"...you know because they are factions and made out of pulp.
The two alliances SUDO and Fauxsaw are an umbrella for several factions with their own special abilities SUDO Loose leaf Association = United States (light green copy paper or notebook paper) Vellum Alliance = EU (Gray copy paper) Parchment Commonwealth = United Kingdom (Blue copy paper)
Fauxsaw Pact Newsprint Union = Old School Soviets (Red Copy paper) Rice paper Republic = China (off white copy paper) papyrus Brotherhood = Iran (tan Copy paper)
stoff: These are the versions that i was talking about.

squirmydad: That's okay, so is the IRS. I'm pretty sure my tax return is one of the millions stored in trailers and unprocessed.

Vermin King: It does help keep you from picking up unintended hitchhiker files, though. It would be better if they gave a notification that you are attempting to download multiple files and to check the box in front of each file you wish to download

cowboyleland: I see now. Some new upgrade (windows? chrome?) blocks downloads of "multiple files" at a time. The miniscule notification that the download was blocked appears in the corner of the screen for a fraction of a second. "They" call this progress.
