Hello,
the family is out today and so I wanted to use my freetime to a) devastate our living room with tons of paper and b) to try out my new Steelwarrior figures in battle.
Step 1 was to try to find a fitting terrain. I failed on step 1 and so my new SciFi guys had to fight in a dusty medieval fantasy city. A bit battered from the long years in the damp cellar - the city did it's job!
Here is the layout:
The idea was to set up an ALANA vehicle column in a KENO ambush. With stronger ALANA forces but the initiative of the KENO troops. I hoped KENO would destroy one or two vehicles in the first turn to get a more even battle. As a reinforcement the KENO's got an old Ebbles SUV (because none of my Keno vehicles are finished).
...and don't forget to place a sniper in a bell tower! Without it's not a battle!
In round 1 everything turned out a little differently than hoped. KENO stopped the tank, but none of the vehicles were destroyed.
Thereupon the entire ALANA infantry dismounted and was shot at directly with 5 man losses.
In round 2 I expected the two armored vehicles to "clean up" with the KENO infantry, but every test failed! Instead, the tank and the truck were shot down one after the other. The KENO Jeep and KENO Guard infantry also attacked from the flanks.
Losses: KENO, 5 Infantry. ALANA, 6 Infantry, 1 Tank, 1 Truck
After the 3rd round I forgot to take a picture. But the fight was pretty stationary. ALANA lost its APC a mortar team and 3 other infantrymen, while KENO lost 4 soldiers.
The fourth round was then only a slaughter. I really wanted to use the KENO suicide bomber, which I succeeded in doing. In total, ALANA lost 2 MG teams and 5 infantrymen, while KENO lost the suicide bomber and a man! After this round I stopped the game because there was only one mortar team and one single shooter left from ALANA.
I had a lot of fun with this game, even if the luck of the dice was very unevenly distributed! I only used half of the field and my bell tower sniper wasn't used ... but we know he was there, and that's the main thing!
I would appreciate some feedback on how to make such a game report better (it's my first one ever). Maybe I can make a game again in a week or two. And if it wasn't too boring for you, I'll take a few photos of it again.
Take care and best regards,
Andreas
