Hello all!
I have been looking over the great models for Sky Galleons of Mars (SGoM) by squirmydad, Sgt Webb and Bill Dwyer. I apologize if I missed anybody in that list. Does anybody have stats for the ships not in the published material?
A little about my background with this game. I picked it up as soon as it came out, and loved it. However, none of the other gamers I knew loved it. I still collected up most of the books for the Space 1889 setting, and played solo games of SGoM once in a while. Then, in a time of financial distress, I sold all of it with the exception of the SGoM boxed set and Ironclads and Etherflyers. Jump forward about 20 years, and a couple of friends have expressed interest in steampunk skirmish games including airships. Enter the Soldier's Companion, backed up with SGoM for the rules on airships. I've downloaded all the models I can find on this site, scaled at 28mm, 15mm and 1/600, and hope to get my friends more interested in this game. Having reprints of the classic books available is helping, too.
As for the ship stats, I am perfectly capable of designing ships for the game. I would just feel more in touch with any community around this game if I had the same stats that other players are using.
Anyway, I've rambled enough, I think. I look forward to hearing back.

Welcome to the paper skies! Also Chris Doemenech made the Fort Courage model and the modular hexagon mesas terrain kit, definitely worth downloading and building. As far as I know there are no stats available for the non-canon models. Everything else should be in SGOM, IC&EF, and (I didn't see it in your list) Cloudships & Gunboats. When this game came out my group played it to death and over the decades since I've been able to play the odd occasional game, I still prefer it over Aeronef. Mateen Green way has some great art, no models unfortunately, which you may find inspirational; mateengreenway.com/steampunk/Space1889.htm

I do have Chris Doemenech's models. That's who I missed in my prior post. Sorry, Chris! As a matter of fact, his American ships were some of the main ones I wanted stats for. I had Cloudships & Gunboats, and now have it in PDF form. Looks like I'll get to make my own stats. There are a few that look like they are essentially the same ship with minor cosmetic changes. I'm seeing these on the SGOM_counters1.pdf, which I believe you made, squirmydad. Is there any difference in performance between the Aphid and the Cicada? The Czarina and the Alexi? The Eagle and the Saratoga? The Hamburg and the Dresden? I have played a little Aeronef, and I'm trying to convert my group from Imperial Skies to SGoM. I, too, prefer the older game. I had not see Mateen Greenway's site before. Thank you for the link! Sevya

No functional difference, I just wanted different names for similar ships. The Cicada is actually a smaller version of an Aphid gunship because when I started modelling I did my scaling wrong. You're welcome!
