Has anyone come across a Vauban-style, five-sided papercraft fort? It would be very useful for gaming.
It seems like the kind of thing one might find on Mauther's site, but I have not yet found one.
A Vauban design seems as though it would be fairly easy to create, as the parts are modular and very geometric; lunette, curtain wall, etc.

I don't see a 5-sided one, but these always seemed like a series I would like to do some day ('some day' being the code word for 'probably never')

I did see the Paper Terrain Vauban forts, but I just can't bring myself to spend $70 on a paper model. I'm still rolling over in my mind, whether to improvise a Vauban design, or go with more traditional entrenchments.

And if you wanted to do the 5-sided, you would need the $70 4-sided AND the $30 5-sided expansion set. I can totally understand that. I would have thought there would be a cheaper alternative. How are you at design?

How are you at design? While I have become quite a paper terrain cultist, as far as building and using, I have no design knowledge nor experience. I am envious of people who have artistic talent and knowledge - one of my best friends has a degree in graphic design and does it for a living - but have no abilities of my own. It's about all I can manage to do some tweaks in GIMP. Alas...

Would you be able to texture in Gimp some basic pieces? I think the corners would be an interesting piece, basically being square, with the inner corner not as high. These could be linked to wall units that should be easy enough. The ends of the walls would have the angles which would determine the number of sides to the fort. I couldn't really say when I might be able to get to it, though I did a preliminary 'what-if' test, just to see if my idea was feasible. I am not sure what the angle should be for the exterior face. My idea was to turn the corner into four walls surrounding a box. I wonder if this would interest glennwilliams

I am willing to try, and am willing to learn what I don't know.

Have you looked into this enough to know what angle the exterior walls slope back?
