Hello everyone! I've been lurking of late, while quietly working away in my dungeon. I'm happy to say I finally have something I can show. Behold, some generic 15mm spearmen! I made these as a sort of test run to get a feel for the scale, and readability. I've been working on a set of rules and army lists for a print & play hex based wargame. More on that to come. I will be posting more shots over the next few days. I think I'll make these available somewhere if there's any interest.

Wow, I really like them, especially the minimalistic syle. They can be used for any massed figured rules. Getting Pokémon vibe, though

Here are some test swordsmen. The single pose is a little more noticeable with these guys when compared to the spearmen. Looking forward to fleshing them out a bit!

Here are some cavalry for today. The single pose looks even worse with all those horse legs moving in perfect unison haha. I want to rework them all a bit, I find the shadows and lines are a little on the heavy side in some areas. I do enjoy how simple they are, and how quickly I can produce them. I'll have to be careful not to overdo it!

Here's a shot of them all lined up. I'm currently working on my website, and trying to figure out how to set up a newsletter. The struggle is real. I can't wait to get back to making artwork.

It's funny that given the vague detail style, the first two words that come to mind are sharp and clean. I'm not sure exactly what that means but I know it's meant as a compliment.

Thanks very much ignatious I've spent the last few weeks reworking the designs and refining...only to have overworked them it seems. I'm still not 100% sure, but I think I prefer these "practice" ones to the most recent iterations. Back to the drawing board! Anyway, here's a link to the files for anyone who's interested: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1IdHkMI9hOekm5uuF5rwpXlyWuWrxST13?usp=sharingWould love to see pics if anybody gives them a try.

Dunno about "overdone", but these are great - still simple. Harks back to the early days (well, early for me, '70s/80s), when you only had a few different figure poses, so your army was pretty much several dozen similar figures.
I don't know how you do these, like do you use layers for certain details? For example, just by changing the helmet and shield styles, maybe the weapon style too, but still keeping the figure pose the same, you could get Roman, Greek, Norse and so on.

Hey alloydog, thanks for the input! These guys are the ones I prefer, I'm quite happy with them actually. They were the "practice" ones. While refining the "real" ones I over did it haha I like that old school mono pose vibe. I'm thinking I may do just what you suggested and switch out some armor/weapons to add variation.
