I see comments lately like 'I haven't built anything in so long...'
How many folks could we get to jump on the bandwagon and build something in February?
Terrain piece, building, vehicle, batch of minis, whatever. It can be something you paid for or something free. It can be from the One Monk Downloads, one of our publishers, Canon, PaperMau, Ninjatoes, or one of the models from the Free Links.
Anyone game to try?

Thanks, aleks, it is a little disconcerting to have 44 views and only one taker. Have you decided on what you will build?

Where do you like me to post he pictures of my build? It depends, I guess. If you want to post finished builds only, put them here. If you are doing development shots as you go along, put them here or in the Gallery, or wherever you think best.

Ok, I read this post and just dropped EVERYTHING this morning and thought I'd get to some backlog of paper models I have printed out and stinking up the place. My original plan was to cut out some minis but I thought I'd add to my carpool. The model is Grendel's Mother's Police Cruiser found here: inkjetpaperscissors.blogspot.com/2012/05/big-cars.html1. Printing - I usually have no problem printing from my Brother MFC-J6910DW. I printed off this car over ten years ago. Holy cats! 2. Cutting - I like to cut and prefold all my parts first. 3. I find it best to edge the minis and if there are two parts that will be glued together (like the sides and the tires) I like to give the back a thin line of black in case it's not quite lined up.

Aaaagh! Been beaten to the " Ooooh! Look at me, I've started first" post... I decided on one of TopoSolitario's stompies. Intended to print out an extra copy, so to be able to add a bit of layered detail. The printer decided to go mental and spit five print-ups in total, so maybe I knock up a few extras.

Intended to print out an extra copy, so to be able to add a bit of layered detail. The printer decided to go mental and spit five print-ups in total, so maybe I knock up a few extras. Right, second time lucky, maybe? Yesterday, when I tried to upload pictures, I got server error messages. I think this one has been cursed from the get-go: First off, the printer went mad and spewed out lots of copies. The next issue is that it was a laser printer and used office card - the print is too shiny for my liking and the ink tends to flake off at the folds. But here goes... I tend to find just paper/card models too flimsy for my liking, so I usually back the print-out with corrugated card. This can make folds difficult, so for this, I cut smaller panels of corrugated card to stick to the back of parts of the model: Then... when colouring the edges and folds with a promarker, the card really slurped up the ink and it spread into the printed areas: So, I coloured onto the printed areas to give an ad-hoc camo-scheme: Even though all is not going as good as I hoped, I'm going to finish it.

Feels like, to paraphrase okumarts, less progress than expected. Some bad rolls. Like really bad rolls. My bad rolls are calendar related. I have to spend more time 100 miles away with my dad, so when I get home, the cats take a huge interest in everything I do, and really are not much help. Paper modeling is a new game for them, in their minds. I like the corrugated cardboard. I tend to use notepad backing. Have you ever tried using watercolor pencils? The biggest advantage with them is little bleeding, but edging with them takes me longer. I just got three boxes of brochures, so I will have to try your cardboard idea on the Big Bertha

Have you ever tried using watercolor pencils? No, but I will pick up a pack next time I mosey through town. I've used Promarkers before and didn't have any problems - but that was on either regular printer paper, or A4/A5 label paper and regular inkjet. I'll get the watercolour pencils, so all bases are covered. Thanks! 👍

Most of the modelers I know that use them just touch the tip to their tongues and edge. I am probably too cautious, so I just keep a slightly damp folded paper towel on a soft margarine lid to moisten the tip

I wanted to finish Tomoko's Little Tank, but Urchin the Cat had other ideas (I am sure the tank tread will be found. Just not today). Then I was going to start Big Bertha. Except I decided to do a quick project instead, as seen at PaperMau, papermau.blogspot.com/2024/02/easy-to-build-green-winged-dragon.htmlMy grandson likes balancing toys. He also likes dragons, so ...

I add some cardboard to models I'm planning to play with, but I try to keep the glue tab. How do you glue your model? Superglue on the edges?

I add some cardboard to models I'm planning to play with, but I try to keep the glue tab. How do you glue your model? Superglue on the edges? This example wasn't very good - too much space between the edge of the corrugated card and the edge of the printed card, but I was trying a slightly different build technique. I usually cut off the glue tabs and glue the edges of the card to each other with PVA glue.

I feel that I waste an awful lot of time prepping the tabs in builds (to avoid the stupid white that invariably shows up where the parts have a little separation), and I really don't mind edge gluing, but it doesn't usually save me that much time. Probably because I don't do it enough
