Cool stuff, Jim. I sculpted a number of winged critters down through the years, including cherub wings on a pig, once. I'd build a substrate with wire, lead foil (in the old days when you could still get it off of wine bottles) and plenty of five-minute epoxy. Then I'd put a thin layer of green epoxy on the trailing edge of the wing and work the feather detail into it. After that cured, I'd work the middle layer feathers, and after they cured, the feathers on the leading edge. It took a lot of attention to detail to get them to look right, but I always found doing a good set of wings highly enjoyable.

Nice collection. A blend of a couple of those and you have the perfect digital wings.
