If you do everything inside Inkscape... final layout and all.. and keep everything vector... then if you save as ".pdf via Cairo" it will export your work to .pdf but it remains vector not bitmap for perfect scaling when printing.
you know... in case you want 1:1 scale ;D
*edit* i guess my question is.. in Jim's pdf of overall process...why convert things into a jpeg for distribution? I noticed the whitewash city .pdf on rpgnow are distributed as vector, so i was curious why go bitmap when you have clean vector art.

I can answer that!
I did save as vector for a while but soon discovered two issues. One is file size, saved as vector one of my figure pages is over 30meg. It's all the gradients I use. Second, I use photoshop style filters on some designs, and these auto convert to bitmap when you save then in PDf, hence parts of the design are vector others bitmap, and there is a definite line when it prints. So to make everything consistent, and so that I can guarantee that you get the same results no matter which set you pint, I decided to render them all as 300 dpi images for the final sets.
I suppose I could have saved the uncolored versions as vector PDF ,and I might do that when I update the files.
I plan on adding part files in the forum, someday. JIM
