Cardmodelers Convention coming SOON! The 12th International Paper Modelers' Convention over the weekend of 23-25 October will again be held at the Hampton Inn and Suites, 22700 Holiday Park Drive, Sterling, VA 20166 (phone 703-537-7800). The schedule is much the same as we have had in the past: Friday (23 Oct) set up starting 5/6 PM with a sandwich buffet; Saturday (24 Oct) open to the public (hours to be determined but probably 10 AM to 6 PM); This year Fiddlersgreen will have three display tables and if you can make it, you're invited to come and display some of your best work on us. If you're workin', why not take in the whole can of worms?? Click HERE for lots more info. We're going to be selling a few of our slightly out-of-date CDs for 10 bucks each. These usually are missing just the latest release or two. internationalpapermodelconvention.blogspot.com/________________________________________________ It's only an hour or two away from where I live, and was wondering if anyone else was heading up there. I'm thinking of doing a Saturday day-trip, at least, and see what else is out there. Seems like there's almost no fantasy stuff represented, so looks like that market is wide open.... ;-D

Oh Wow! I see Ebble's stompies, Matsume(I think that's his Patlabor), and Rob Ives(Patience-the hand automata), a bunch of Hako's and of course the architecture and military airplanes. Very impressive. I had no idea we had conventions like this on the East coast, let alone this side of the pond (with the exception of New York). I love seeing our hobby gaining popularity! I love seeing such a diverse selection of the craft. From the Urban/Paper toy to the sports cars and animals to the the serious military/industrial ships and architectural dioramas. Something for everyone! BUT TELL ME, sitting right next to HomeSpunMagixx table display is a set of ruins with some dragons on them! Whom did these dragons? I'd really like to find these! Wish I could go. Please post tons of photos from this years show! I'll book mark this with interest for the future! ~Floyd

Thank you again Mags. I don't know how I missed those dragons all this time. Some of them are pretty decent.

Wow, Sterling isn't that far from me. Hmm. I'll have to talk to the Boss about a field trip. Y'know, for the boy. Educational and stuff. *cough*
No promises, but if I make it down I'll take the digital camera with me.
