So I was looking around for something new to play. I recently decided that RPGs were simply not my thing any longer. A few games have come up as being in the running. Then I heard about Mantic on the D6 Generation podcast and their Kings of War miniature line and, now, rules. Then I heard they were posting their rules free.www.manticgames.com/Hobby/Gaming.htmlSeems like just the thing for paper soldiers as well as plastic. More to the point, sounds like just the thing for One Monk minis. I intend to try it out a bit today with the kids. The main thing I like is that the game plays with units instead of individual models.

Here are the armies all made up over the last month. I've had a couple of games against my eight year old boy, both of which have ended in my decisive defeat. The rules are quick and fun. The figures are mostly onemonk, but the dwarves and wraiths on the right are Gwindel's, which I got at www.gwindel.eu/Autre/Figs/Figurines.html. Each is regular copy paper glued over construction paper using either white school glue or glue stick of the commonest sort. The bases are plain foamcore with the unit stats written in pencil on them left over from when I had my first test game with the rules without bases. I see these as midpoint models, with more carefully crafted ones in the future, either of paper or the nice plastics made by the publisher, Mantic. If I consider cost, of course, the ink, paper, time and so forth come no where near a tenth the cost of a plastic army of the same level, even if I use the really good matte photo paper.

Excuse me for my bad english. I can't see the wraiths on the rights ... sorry. But about the dwarves ... I remember that the beautiful Gwindel's works haven't back artwork. There are, full compatible with Jim's works, Slick's miniatures ( I'm sad because it's more time tha there are no news from Slick ) for a basic dwarf's infantry army. There are 3 types of soldiers for infantry and 3 for heavy infantry, plus command. In blue and red. There are too 2 modded figures sets from Slick's dwarves ( very beautiful too ), but I don't remember where I find these, sorry. "Dwarven spears" and "Dwarven sergeants and standar bearers". Only crossbows still missing for a complete dwarven army.

Your English is way better than my (any other language), so no problem. You are correct about the "no back art". It makes facing a little more dificult, but it is still pretty good, and it was my gateway into paper miniatures. Those Dwarves look great. Thanks for finding those for me. Here's a close up of the Gwindel miniatures.
