I am relatively new to cutting, but one thing I notice is that the silhouette does not like cutting into corners neither does it cut all the way to the end of a line. It leaves a little "sticky" bit which can cause paper tears. This is particularly true with thicker card stock.
To borrow a technique from manufacturing I started to design overcuts on my GSDs, only about a mm longer than the actual drawn line. This seemed to have completely eliminated the problem.
