Well, I was building a model today, and it reminded me of something else... if were only BIGGER.
So, I fired up Shuffler and started creating. Since I can only draw things up in my mind, and paper... I have to figure out all the angles in my head.
Well, it is all draw up in Shuffler... so let's see how this "unfolds."

Since this is going to be pretty big (potentially the biggest one I have done yet), let's start with the supports. I needed one to be one inch square by 3 inches. It is going in a piece 4" long, so I wanted to make sure I had extra space. Cut and fold... Attachments:

You will have basically a brick wall. You will need two of these. Attachments:

Next, I need a 3"x3"x4" box. I used left over pieces from a different model to make the supports since they weren't going to be seen. Did I mention this was going to be BIG?! Attachments:

Place the large spacer in the center of the body, making sure to line it up with the white squares on the sides. I would suggest you apply the little trick I learned from Squirmydad... with a black marker, trace the inside of the white squares about 5mm around the inside of the squares on the sides. This will help cover up any white lines that might show up due to misalignment. Attachments:

Glue the top down, and place the intake propellers in the front. Glue one on either side of the body covering the white squares. Attachments:

Cut out the wing sections. Make sure that you color the back side of the gun sections so the gun barrel will have a black or dark grey (depending on the color of marker you color it with) inside. Fold this over and glue the back of the gun flap down to make it a 3D gun. Attachments:

When the wing gets aligned, it does NOT mount flush with the top of the model. Instead it lines up with the first row of rivets. When it is lined up, the bottom of the first row of panels should hit at the top of the beveled edge of the engine compartment. Follow the same steps on the opposite wing. Attachments:

Fold over the twin rear fins and line them up with the top of the ship, so the grey diamond grids line up. It is a good idea to cut the underneath side of the section that attaches to the side at an angle to match the slope of the back of the ship. Attachments:

Finally (unless you want to attach the landing gear... it is after mid-night here so I won't be doing it tonight), after you have the fins installed, it is complete. I PRESENT TO YOU NOW, the CLAUDIUS class Utility Drop Ship. I named this one the Pieroni 25. What you think? Attachments:

I guess in retrospect, the thread was nearly as big as the model! ;D
Thanks for your encouragement, fellas! This has given me the inspiration I needed to get some other projects long forgotten finished!
In case there was a doubt, I did this in Shuffler again (in case I forgot to mention it).
I MAY soon be posting my models for download for people that own Shuffler over on PaperMakeiT.com. that way you can enjoy these for yourself. (Just need to work out the details).
This would be EXTREMELY helpful if I ever release ERA OF WAR! It would be nice to have the models from the game be available for download somewhere.
Ok. Thanks for your attention!

Very nice... that would make a great center-piece for a Mech Attack scenario game (^_^)
