The new studio software although containing some nice features I'm finding extremely frustrating and irritating to use, to the point were I could have manually hand traced the objects in the old robo software quicker than trying import a dxg file and align it in studio.
Any tips with these issues:
1. On import the dxg file seems to do weird things if any objects were grouped they disappear, even having everything de-grouped I lost 3 -4 shapes for no apparent reason..
2. The Dxg file seems to get stretched or distorted in one dimension, I triple checked the scaling/sizing and when the correct width it was to long when correct length to narrow...annoying
3. Selecting the cut lines to align them correctly is an exercise in Patience and Zen mind state. There's no "pickup point" when you hover the mouse over the cut line so over half the time I end up selecting background check image (which as an added bonus results in image walk/de-alignment after 12 or so accidental clicks), sometimes I get nothing, other times I get it but it flicks to node edit mode and I have flick it back to cut line mode....remainder of the time I get it nicely but it's pretty rare...
4. Zoom level, anyone get a good rule of thumb for zoom level to set line alignment but not so far in your adjusting half a hairs width but still get a good accurate cut....I've been sitting around 5-6 in's from a full page view.
edit 5 missed one - the dxg file or the studio software seems to do odd things like joining some paths into one long chunk, this means I have to re split my cut lines from my perforations even though I carefully laid these down separately in Inkscape.
I'm tempted at this stage it either upgrade to the pro version to see if svg file import works better or just drop back to the old robo software for GSD generation then open the GSD's in studio and convert them to .studio files...
Tips would really be appreciated as I can't believe I've spent 6 hrs fiddling with UFO file in studio and it's still not done....
