I know for sure that i'll not able to build them. I'm hunting from years for 2.5D papercraft planes, WWI or modern fighters. There's a lot of amazing artists on the web that build beautiful 3D complex models (the amount of pieces is more or less the same than plastic models) but no one that make simple planes useful for some tabletop gaming. I plan to mod a bit Dave's planes (the flat versions) to have some sort of 2.5D, but it will need some planning.....
Thanks for sharing this.

That's way beyond my skill level, but, boy... is it ever cool!
Have fun! Steve

The problem is that for Airplane modelers, modeling _is_ the hobby. Our hobby is gaming. So for them, a month spent building a model is a month well spent, for us is just a bunch of time that must be spent before using the model in a game.

Yeah, it is not beyond my abilities, but I'm not making a fleet of them, that's for sure. I've been trying to sort out some fast-build vehicles for a game I'm hoping to play soon. There is no way I'd spend that much time on them. I want to play, not model.

I looked at this on my anrdoid phone and thought, "Oh, wow." Then I got home and looked at it on my big monitor. Oh . . . dear. Yep, she's a beaut. Nope, ain' no way I'm buildin' that baby!

Wouldn't really take much to make something like this in a more user friendly way. Seriously. Sometimes it is the reliance on 3G software and unfolding programs that creates these unwieldy beasts.

That is one of the things I look for in miniatures and models... something that looks good, AND easy to build.
That is why I am draw to Finger and Toe. Ebbles is a genius, but some of his stuff was beyond me. (Like his Chapperal bikes had little gun barrels that you needed tweezers for... I just used his weapons from his marines... another model that required more skill and sweat that I wasn't willing to spend).
I think these look incredible, but I would prefer something simpler that would still look good.
That's just me. Feel free to ignore this post (most people will).

This plane was a collaboration, but I really think Tekzo hit the ball out of the park on it. It doesn't look nearly as fiddly as the Avatar flyer.
I saw that Parduz was looking for 2.5d planes. There are actually quite a few, but I'll have to find them again. They are a lot like those balsa gliders we all had as kids, only modeled after real planes. Is that TOO simple?
