When you work on your Beastriders set, will you please include one or two goblin archers mounted on wolves? I think they are a very important part of any bad-guy army, and nobody makes any that I like. Thanks for considering it!
I'm also looking forward to building a squadron or Gorac-orcs mounted on trained combat lizards!
Have fun! Steve

...will you please include one or two goblin archers mounted on wolves? I think they are a very important part of any bad-guy army... No problem Steve! Just answer if "wolf" (big one in background) would be good'n'pretty enough. BTW this one draft is more dog then wolf, but there should be no problem with alternate "wolfy" version, plus perhaps he should have more scum/foam bursting of his mouth? Basic idea is that this "mount" should be mad-looking/raging and much more scary then the rider itself - and as this is veeery preliminary version so changes/modifications are possible:) Same for a small "winged raptor" - wings could be added/shaped according to user wish... The another one in background - the BIG one is de facto already done but I'm considering 2.5D version - ie all "metal" / armor parts could be separate accessories - I think it might be quite easy to setup and visually attractive, plus a lot of modifications possible here - so it seems interesting... I'm also looking forward to building a squadron or Gorac-orcs mounted on trained combat lizards! >>>I'm not sure if I understood what "Gorac" is?!? But speaking of various lizards / raptors / dino... etc. mounts I think that I got something appropriate/acceptable(?): BTW: my impression that "blue one" mount should be significantly bigger - it would looks much more impressive IMO! The "yellow one" is almost finished (still not colored yet) - it seems as a good (raptor=mount) basis for couple interesting figurines (ie various riders, lot of additional accessories kinda shields/banners etc) In general - riders should be "exchangeable" (definitely for me:) so there is possibility for many versions... ...but... I got also idea: separate riders and mounts - so you/users could "build" their own figurines. Of course there will be some facilitation's/simplifications necessary, but still it sounds promising:) This set is still in early stage - so many variations / possibilities are possible - so if anyone got some ideas / suggestions - share them and perhaps they will be introduced? --- Plus one more thing - I' like this set to be rather more "realistic" then candy-colours - ie even some blood / gore might be involved (vide cut-off head in background?!?) - BUT... I'm not sure if it would be acceptable / appropriate?

I'm also looking forward to building a squadron or Gorac-orcs mounted on trained combat lizards! On the last page of the Valkyrie set, the page called "Planned Sets", in the middle of the top row is an illustration promoting the "Beastriders" set. There is a green, lizard-looking beast in front of a larger elephant-sized beast. I found a picture of this same beast on your Polish website listed as a part of Fantasy World I (KA15). From the text (translated by software) I thought this was a "Gorak-orc riding a trained, combat lizard". But on second thought, it might just mean "orc riding a trained, combat lizard". At any rate, I would like to build a number of these orcs riding trained, combat lizards! Thanks! Later on, I'll post more about what I'd like to see in wolves. Have fun! Steve

Here are some pictures of a reconstruction of an actual dire wolf, whose skeleton was found in the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles, CA: Notice, it DOES NOT have spikes coming out of its back, and it IS NOT huge. Dire wolves were not much larger than gray wolves. Dire wolves had a "lean and hungry" look. I don't like the giant, horse-size marsupial "wargs" of Peter Jackson's movies. Wolves aren't fearsome because they are large and fierce. They are fearsome because they hunt in packs, and there are so many of them. Likewise goblins are not large and burly. They are small and wirey and far too manic, but there are very, very many of them. I don't use goblin wolf riders as shock cavalry. I use them as swarms of light cavalry, riding in, loosing a flight of arrows, and then riding back out again before they can be run down by heavier cavalry. Just my two cents' worth of opinion! Thanks! Have fun! Steve

stevelortzOh... now i got it - in original printed issue it is: "Ork D'Arlagh na goraku - bojowym jaszczurze" //and please do not even try to speak "jaszczurze" loud - you could broke your tongue! //which indeed stands for: "Orc D'Arlagh riding /mounted on/ gorac - battle lizard" Well - if so, there should be no problem with full pack of these mounted orc's (ie various weapons / shields / helmets / coats etc... although general posing of course would be limited - as there is no much possibilities (even for Orc:) for mounted person - only different hands and upper part of body - but all-together it should assure many sensible variations)

stevelortz//and please do not even try to speak "jaszczurze" loud - you could broke your tongue! // "jazz-ka-ZUR-zee"! Is my Indiana accent coming through? I think I would use my jazz-ka-ZUR-zees as heavy orc cavalry, and goblin archers mounted on unarmored wolves as light missile cavalry in an orc army! Thanks! Have fun! Steve

If you plan to release monsters and beasts I would suggest that you go for their appearance similar to that seen in the mainstream media and rpgs like warhammer or D&D. I think most people are using the paper minis for their games and simply are more familiar to the "monster manual" look of those creatures.

Here is MY suggestion... Make a page of beasts, a page of riders (elves, Orcs and humans...) and that way we could choose the riders to ride the various beasts.
It shouldn't be too hard... just a basic profile, and you can place the legs on either side.
Just my two cents worth... When this set is available, I will buy it IMMEDIATELY (even though it isn't Sci-Fi)! ;D

I think most people are using the paper minis for their games and simply are more familiar to the "monster manual" look of those creatures. Thanks, enpeze, for giving me an excuse to blow on, like the old geezer I've become! One of the disadvantages of surviving as long as I have is that I still think the way I did when the hobby was young. I played my first game of D&D in February 1975, I was sculpting for Archive Miniatures in the late '70s, when Games Workshop was nothing more than the UK importer of D&D. I sculpted the first ever Star Dwarves. I sculpted orcs reminiscent of the Hildebrand artwork, that GW bought wholesale from Archive and resold, because they did not yet manufacture figures of their own. I was there BEFORE people were trying to figure out what the Monster Manual and subsequent images should look like. I was there sculpting wolf riders before there WAS a Monster Manual! To me, the quintessential warg riders will always be the Custom Cast Fantastiques' goblin wolf riders, and try as I might, I've never been able to make one that looks as good to me!. You're right that mesper should cater to his customers' expectations. I had to do the same thing all my commercial life. mesper should do his own vision first, and if that's a Peter Jackson giant marsupial, then so be it. I'm just begging, if he has a corner to spare, to include a deceptively puny-looking dire wolf (realistic) or two mounted by dregs of Middle Earth goblins. Thanks again, enpeze! Have fun! Steve
