I have always been a dwarf fan boy and i had a large GW army in the past. Enjoy! (i hope) I will at some point try my hand making these into flats, as I have never tried it before.

Good stuff, phantombaz! I do this stuff for fun. I had the good fortune to be able to make some money at it from time to time, but now that I'm past my prime, I still do it... for fun!
One of the things I learned the hard way was that If I wasn't having fun with a thing I was working on, I couldn't make it fun for anyone else.
Your dwarf drawings might not appear on Magic the Gathering cards, but they're fun for me, so I am giving you all the encouragement I can, and I look forward to adding some of your figures to my cardstock dwarf armies!
Just like goblins, you can never have too many dwarves!
Have fun! Steve

Who can say what is good and what isn't? I know I can't. If you want dwarves, and you draw dwarves, then how can that be bad? I know that for every picture I draw, there is one million people that can draw the same thing better. I can either say, "I am no Jim Hartman, so I am packing up my crayons and going home," OR "I can say, I drew these, and I like them." Two things to remember when you are drawing: 1) Who are you drawing them for? 2) Why are you drawing them? If you are drawing them for other people, then you will NEVER be satisfied with them. Why? You can't please everyone! I have made a few figures. When I drew them, I wasn't thinking, "I hope Phantombaz likes these." I think, "I like this." If I didn't then I wouldn't post anything here. Secondly, are you wanting to design the most original Dwarves in the world, and set it on it's ear, OR are you wanting to draw some Dwarves to play with in your game? If your answers to these questions is 1) Yourself, 2) Because you want to, then you are on the right track, and you have only one person to answer to, and that is yourself. Besides, I like them!

Nice sketches here! Now, just my 2 coppers if I may suggest... try to concentrate (at least at the beginning) and focus on max 2-3 figures / poses -- then tune / work on them, play/experiment with various weapons and accessories and try to develop some own/sound techniques (style comes later)... please do not hesitate to wipe and start from scratch if needed... actually each form of art is kinda endlessly looped process!..

I had a basic format in mind, and i wanted to get away from the Norse/Viking styli dwarf. I did start off just as you said, then i got carried way with Armour... from none and heavy ... weapons, units as you can see the crossbowmen all have the same look. i will take your advise and pick 1 or 2 and start designing a line of them... I did find myself erasing and starting over luckily i bought 2 erasers. thanks for the help ;D

Steve thanks stevelortz, I am moving house (today in fact) and i will be setting i place where i do more stuff, as drawing has helped me relax and allowed my imagination to play, which, has i don't have any people to game now that i live in Thailand has/is helping me a lot. The only good Gob, is a dead Gob (sorry a bit of the dwarf in me)
