Hello everyone, I am VERY new here, actually this is my first post. So I thought I would introduce myself, by showing you what I have made. I have always wanted to make my own paper buildings for wargaming, and for many reasons, I have was unable to do so - Until Now. Here is my first attempt a creating a paper based model/terrain piece for a wargaming table. It is a small brick and plaster house, with a slate roof. It has no windows (at the moment), and was created using Photoshop and Illustrator. It is about 28mm in scale. I have photographed it, with a Flintloque mini for scale comparison. I can already see some changes I want to make to this model, as well as a plethora of future models, but I think it is "not too shabby" for a first attempt. Comments and feedback are always welcome. Enjoy the pictures:

Nice! I'm not sure I understand how the roof is constructed...

The roof was printed as shown on the paper and then using a pencil and ruler, I kinda did some "further" cuts and folds to get it looking like that. I now need to get back onto the computer and corrrect the roof.

It looks really good. I really like the wall textures.
When you work on the roof, could you add a little weathering to it? It looks a little clean and new compared to the walls. Not a big thing, but since you are going back to work on the roof anyway, I thought I'd mention it.
Very nice.

Except for the noted problem with the roof print out which you're already fixing, this is great. I really love the pipes running down the wall.
It looks like there'd be room on the second sheet to add a bottom, which would help stability (without a base, card stock buildings get a mite floppy).
It has a lot of uses--and re-textured could be the basis for an entire village, even on Mars. Good work.

Thanks for the greetings, comments and feedback. I will definately do some work on this, and take all your feeback into account.
I really liked working on the textures the most. The building was almost an after thought, just as a purpose to show-off the textures.
I have been reading a lot MORE about this hobby, both on these forums and around the web. I have also downloaded some image of various paper buildings I really like. I hope to have next building ready for show sometime soon.

Were you thinking of putting windows in this? I was wondering which style of windows you would pick to set this off.
The texturing is excellent.

Here is the update: I spent a good 3-4 hours LATE last night, with the intention of fixing the roof and adding the 'fold' tabs and maybe a window. ....INSTEAD....I tweaked the wall texture (basically changing the colour), I added a window, a wall vent, moved the pipes, added a couple of fold tabs, added some vines, changed the roof to rusty/old corrugated metal, but I still haven't finished it. I am considering this is just a texture/skin change. Here is a small sample file:

Wow... looks really GREAT!
I like the shadows and small details - jalousie/louvers, pipes with "tap" and... it's poster, right?
>>>IMO this "poster" is very climatic/immersing addition - perhaps you could consider adding couple of various "posters" in Wild West/western (kinda WANTED post-up?), modern and postapo/fallout-like style as SEPARATE parts/accessories in order to provide various possibilities for customisation!?!
Then if I could suggest something (however it's tough to judge based on such a small pictures)... but how about some more shadow/darkish area on plaster below the ivy and it's roots?

Also, I don't think you want pink tabs. If someone isn't careful when they assemble the model the bit of tab they leave showing will REALLY show. You might as well leave then white (to save on ink), let the texture bleed into the tabs or colour the tabs with some medium tone from the texture so it won`t be too obvious if it shows a bit.

Excellent! I really like the depth perception. Excellent use of shadows.
