Being an avid 40k gamer from the start it has taken me a lot to pull away from the rules and branch out into other venues. I have gotten hooked on the 15mm scale because the size of the playing field is more accessible for the area we use to game. I just need to find a good set of universal war game rules that are designed for that scale. At first we used 40K rules at normal ranges (we did not know any better) and the games were over too quick. Now we have moved on to Oversoul's Flat Out War (SO) and just cut all the ranges in half. But does anyone know of any universal 15mm war-game rules (free or not)? Any help in this area would be great!

Your starter for ten could be Star Grunt 2, although designed as a 25mm set it seems to have taken on a life of it's own in 15mm. Currently free on Ground Zero games website I think (very big file download warning). www.gzg.comThere's also Beamstrike games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Beamstrike_Sci-fi_Game/You'll have to join the yahoo group though. You could also try wildfire www.lulu.com/content/1955739, currently £1 for the pdf version (don't know what that equates to in $ at the present) and it's add on www.lulu.com/content/2562923 also currently £1 Not had chance to play this but it does look rather good. Then of course there is Mutants and Death Ray guns by Ganesha games, great for skirmish games in the post apocalytic future, no vehicle rules though as yet (there are expansions planned) and definitely an excellant and well recommended rules set www.lulu.com/content/2311162You could also try www.freewargamerules.co.uk and look through the extensive sci-fi listing. If you want a very in depth game RPGNow stock 'Striker' the old 'skirmish' rules set in the traveller universe. hope this helps! Mags

Thanks for all the info. I have played a few games of Star Grunt 2 and have not been that impressed with it (just my personal opinion so don't hate I love Mutants and Deth ray guns but for skirmishes only. Makes me remember the good old days of early necromunda and 40k 1st edition. I just joined the yahoo group for beamstrike and have downloaded a few sets of rules will let you know more when i get through reading them. Thanks for all the great info! Nate

Future War CommanderThis is meant to be the bees knees scalable from 6mm to 30mm covering a lot of companies miniatures (including 40k but hidden behind different names). The downside to this is that the book is £20.00 plus £8.50 in postage international. The Warstore also sells it which might be more helpful. I got a copy sent from England and then gave the package to my folks saying that I had gotten my present from them for them, they were happy with that. Lord Abaddon of Wormwood

you know this is the second time i have heard about Future War Commander the other person who mentioned it was my friends wife (from England) who remembered seeing it on the shelf at her local game store when she was back visiting her folks. She asked about it for her husband and got great replies from the gaming crowd that was present. Don't know why she did not get it for him though. I might have to look into it.
