It is with mixed emotion that we would like to announce a change in ownership of One Monk Miniatures. We have been in talks with Eric Brown (aka Squirmydad) who has offered to purchase One Monk from Sanity Studios. We cannot think of a better person to turn One Monk over to. Squirmydad has been around since before the founding of One Monk Miniatures, and has had close ties with Jim since the early days. He has remained active as a modeler, designer, and forum member all the while. Not to mention a great friend and helper to Nik and I.
Nik and I have thoroughly ejoyed being a part of what Jim started in One Monk, and the cardboard warriors forum. However, as time has gone on, we have not been able to maintain a level of productivity and activity that we feel the company and forum community deserve, and for this reason we feel it appropriate to turn over ownership.
We will retain ownership of Sanity Studios and the assets and creations of Sanity Studios, while the orginal One Monk assets, website, and cardboard warriors forum will be taken over by Eric. Details are still being finalized, and the switchover is still in process.
We hope to continue doing things at our own slow pace, and be involved in our own way, so we won't be disappearing. Well... not anymore than usual anyways.
Sincerely Aaron Bradbury - Labrat Nik Loveland - nikloveland (how boring is that!)

Wow! From one side, this makes happyand excited. I felt the slowdown, and i was worried. On the other side, being me involved a bit in Labrat creations i'll miss that tiny job. It was fun.
Thanks to you both for what you have done and for let me being in the process, and thanks to Squirmydad for taking this.

Thanks, and welcome to the new yet strangely familiar Cardboard Warriors empire. I don't anticipate huge changes, but there are some fun things that I want to get rolling right away. First up; Papercut Awrds 2013! We're overdue on starting this project so the start date will be this monday 7/22 where I'll be posting full details on the competition. Much of the format from previous years will remain with the notable exception of no celebrity judges. All voting and judging will be done by the will of the people. There will also be an additional category for Best in Show. Prizes and details on 7/22. Secondly; I love the banner at the top of the forum, but there's more people than Floydski around who can build and shoot a great pic. Starting monday 7/22 I'm doing a forum banner of the month competition. Each month forum members can submit photos of their creations in the forum banner format and the best of the month will be chosen by the membership. More details and specifications on monday. Thirdly; The Forum Hoards...easily the toughest job here. I can promote, participate, and host the finished files. Somebody, or somebodies needs to step up to the plate to manage the collating and presenting aspect. This will sit on hold until somebodies can fill the vacancy. Thanks all, talk to you more later!

Wow! I'm still relatively new here, but am glad to see that this forum (and One Monk itself) is set to be re-energized. Congratulations to you, Squirmydad! And thanks to Labrat & Nik, both for carryon One Monk, and for realizing when it's time to move on. I'm excited about the contests, both for the Papercut Awards (as an admirer, and voter!), and for the banner contest where I hope to compete! and show off my favourite works as I assemble them! I don't think I'm experienced enough to help out much with the forum hoards/hordes, but will happily support whomever can!

Thanks guys for all the well wishes. It truly was a difficult decision but squirmydad made it much easier for us knowing it would be in good hands. Thank you all for your support and enthusiasm for the paper modeling hobby. It has been (and continues to be) a great time.

Like Parduz, I was a little worried about the forum in view of the pace of activity at Sanity Studios. I sincerely hope you guys can find your rhythm again, and I thank Squirmy Dad for stepping up. And as Tiny Tim would say: . . . (no, cheesy, forget it)
