Thank you for the links.
9/11 is drawing to a close, but I thought I would bring to other peoples attention a new American tradition that I learned about today on NPR. The idea in a nutshell is to do something charitable on September 11. Its meant as a tribute to the people who selflessly gave their service on September 11, and the following days. Its also a way to make 9/11 into something more positive. It doesn't have to be anything big. Just buying someone a cup of coffee is enough. I think its a great idea.
Edit: I forgot to mention that this is being called "Day of Service"
