While not yet a member of our illustrious forum, Eric Chaussin of Old School Dungeons (also Herick's Dungeons, duplicating an item or two under another vendor listing for some reason) does some really beautiful map tiles. They are in a similar style to the same Games Workshop's Dungeon Floor Plans that inspired BilliamBabble Inked Adventures's Inked Adventures line. Mr. Chaussin is currently running a special on his best sets, each of them only $1 (normally $2 or even $8-15!). Oddly enough, there was no promotion of this... or maybe not so oddly, because the only reason I knew of him was praise from Mr. Babble, and kiladecus' inclusion of some of his ice and lava tiles in Deadly Missions Fantasy Quests 1 & 2. Mr. Chaussin seems overly fond of trying out new formats and new products, and taking the old out of the roster, so I advise you to jump on them if they catch your fancy. And at this price, they are a steal. Especially the set linked below, which is a compilation of 6-7 other sets, making 757 tiles in total! Thanks for the heads-up on this one Anne. Mr. Chaussin seems overly fond of trying out new formats and new products, and taking the old out of the roster, so I advise you to jump on them if they catch your fancy. Indeed. It's a great way to irritate your potential customers to the point where they'll just go away and not buy anything - as I did almost a year ago. Came back a couple of days after first seeing them to make a purchase, only to find everything had vanished into the ether! Consequently, this is the first time I've checked for them since, and now I find I can have all seven original sets for $1. Great for me (after a year's delay). Not sure how this benefits the manufacturer though...

I completely agree with wyvern.
I like this author's artworks but he, as a producer, imho is completely unreliable. When he started to sell his products, at least two years ago, I was happy and I have bought some of them.
But there were several serious problems, both on the product, the presence of excessive black, definitely a very ink-killer, and other minor issues.
And about sell's methods. These were really annoying. Prices and product names that changed every day, even several times a day.
Once the OBS staff put us at least four days to give me back the credit got stuck during my purchase, because the producer had changed name to the product while I was buying ...
Products disappeared suddenly, so they are no longer available for download from the customer's historical archive ...
No reply from the producer. No directly or as a reply to the buyers' reviews.
... Or products sold, as artwork in pdf format, at 50 dollars each image ( a price absolutely off-market ) and then suddenly reduced to one-tenth.
So, in my personal opinion, a paroxysmal way to change the cards on the table, that a manufacturer can't possess. Because it only damages his customers.
In the end I removed all my negative reviews ( and now I'm sorry for this. Because future buyers have no a complete situation view. Then they decide how they want and prefer, of course ) and have remained only completely positive reviews.
And I smile, at least a little, when I read them (they are all by "Featured Reviewer" ). And now, not only on this specific case, I have some doubts about the capacity and also on the good faith, alas, of many of them ( not about Billiam B., he remains one of my favorite authors and a person that I consider unquestionably worthy of the highest respect. Maybe they don't pay at full price the products who review )
Only one "Verified Purchaser" left his review:
While the artwork in this product is pretty good, with some interesting detail, the set loses a lot when it comes to quality.
1) Black background on every page is a huge ink-eater. Anyone printing these is going to waste a lot of ink and have some pretty saturated paper or cardstock to deal with.
2) Lack of variation in the monsters. The orcs look identical. Not even a color change on the clothing or (what would be better yet) a weapon swap. Same with the wolves. And the Ogres. The goblins have only two color variants. Though the undead have a few color scheme changes, again, no variant in pose or weaponry. And many of the monsters (especially the orcs) are in a static pose intead of something more action oriented that would fit a combat where these are likely to show up.
3) Lack of back poses or backshadow. This has been covered in other reviews.
All in all, this would be an acceptable set for $.99 or $1.50, but the lack of variant in monsters leaves a lot to be desired. And the black backing makes this a waste of money.
If he corrects the backing problem, I'd come back and review this higher, but that's just a poor choice all the way around.
Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!]
It's all.

RhannonThe "featured reviewers", unless I'm mistaken, get all of the products they review for free. I've come to distrust some of them completely. Not BilliamBabble Inked Adventures because we have tastes that align remarkably well, and endzeitgheist (spelling?) I respect if I don't always agree with. But Meghan never gives anything less than 4 stars, and usually only 5 stars. She writes lengthy reviews on an almost daily basis, but I'm not sure whether she just picks a favourite to give it a good review or if she really is so enthusiastic about everything she gets. Her opinion would be more reliable and valuable if she did more, shorter reviews that weren't all overwhelmingly positive... As to Eric's publishing and pricing strategies, they have both baffled and ticked me off. They are inktensive, and are often presented in a format unusual for contemporary tile makers. The short-lived availability and lack of notice is frustrating, and the suddenly variable and sometimes overly high pricing even more so. I mean to message him on Facebook, since I suspect he has little to no idea of how much this may be driving away customers...

An approach I was going to try with the ultra-black edging and backgrounds is to copy the tiles I want across to being JPGs and change the black to something more suitable.
