While the models and minis look great together, I thought we established last year that there could be no cgi enhancements, just straight photographs? I'm afraid that for me, the added textures distract and detract from the quality of the scene itself.

Since the CG is just for the backdrop it's fine. The main focus of the pictures is still on the minis and the interaction of the scenic elements.

Hello WackyAnne, my thoughts were that since this is for the "Mixed-Media" category using artificial backgrounds would be acceptable. Here is what it looked like before the backgrounds were put in: If it is breaking the rules, let's just move this page to our publisher section of the forum and I'll prepare a different entry.

My first feeling it that those figurines are 3D. However after a long gazing, I see ours dear cardboard warriors. Nice diorama!

I just remember last year, there was some hurt feelings over it - I'll be very happy to see that all avoided this year. I haven't read the rules all that closely, especially for the new mixed media category. Between my laser printer's dark and mis-colouring, and getting the kids ready for school, I may not have the time to do a proper job on my own, perhaps over-ambitious, project. Oh, and pavaro's right - the work on the new figures is so good, they certainly look 3D at this distance, even after a second look!
