Here it is, in it's as complete form at the moment, although further development might take place, The Harbor Hiring Hall/ Public House where your pirates, merchant captains and other savory and unsavory characters can meet for a drink, to hire help, or get into a raging brawl! Miniatures by Dryw the Harper, Brave Adventures Mercenary Warband and mayhem in Paper/One Monk bandit Warband
Fold flat staircases based on original concepts and designs by oldschooldmOver view of the assembled Hiring Hall from the front: Layers opened up for play showing internal balconies, fireplaces ( which help support the second story) and stairs. All the component parts, levels, balconies, staircases, veranda and roof. here is the download link : Harbor Hiring Hall/Public House!

What a wonderfully detailed kit! All 37 pages of it. Not only did you provide the building, you added the interior walls and floors, AND the props. That is probably one of the most complete kits I've ever seen. And FREE! That could have fetched a pretty nice price. Thanks for sharing it with the community!
BTW - if you have a moment, breaking this registration marks out would be a nice-to-have feature for me, as I'm still on the old system myself, so building it as initially supplied means fiddling with 37 pages. We you going to supply the cutfiles, or did you build the display model by hand?
Amazing. With so many great submissions in this category, I may end up voting against myself. :-)

oldschooldm, I'll get the PDF updated with the older registration marks later today, I still have the In Design Files, SO I can add them pretty quickly. I haven't been able to afford. cutter yet , so it was all cut out by hand. I think I'll experiment with making the cutfiles for this to get the experience with making them, but those won't be ready until the end of the week. 8rad, the other nice thing about it breaking down into levels is that you can build it in multiple configurations, as a short one story, using just the second story and the roof, as a tall one story, using the ground floor and the roof, as a tall one story with Veranda/balcony, or as the full 2 story, with or without the veranda/balcony. I saw this as the opportunity to get experience making a building and pushing myself on some different texturing, glad people are liking it.

PDF Now updated with SD as well as Cameo registration marks. Still working on more detailed instructions, but most people with a basic understanding of papercrafting here should be able to figure this model out. I'll also see about learning how to make cutfiles and have them and the instructions up by next weekend.. Here again is the download link to the latest version of the PDF: Harbor Hiring Hall/Public House

I'll also see about learning how to make cutfiles and have them and the instructions up by next weekend.. Making cutfiles is pretty simple. Basically the software is just a vector-based drawing tool, but unfortunately it's not the most user-friendly one around and that makes the whole exercise a bit of pain at first. Once you're used to the quirks you should find it pretty easy to churn them out.

bravesirkevin, i figure this is a good model to start learning them with, since a lot of the pages ( other than texturing) are duplicates of each other.

Perhaps worth pointing out too that aside from its other numerous plus points, this masterpiece also has layers to let you vary the state of the internal plasterwork, add smoke marks on the walls around the oil lamps, and even have the lamps turned on or off! There are paid-for sets that don't have this level of optional external detailing, let alone ones that come with interiors as well!

cowboycentaur Thanks for the compliments! sometimes I too forget how to internet... I don't test the links i put up with every web browser out there, but I do go into incognito mode in Chrome and make sure it opens from there at least, without using any of my stored information. After seeing the submissions by the other entrants, and especially the work in the figure categories by aaron, bravesirkevin, kiladecus, CinderPig, I feel I have produced something up to the quality of their work, and a suitable environment for their fugures to arrange a deal, have a drink or start ( or better yet finish) a brawl...

Many moons ago, I really wanted to do a scale Shanghai harbor scene. The mix of Victorian and Oriental always intrigued me. This could be my start on that project

This could be my start on that project see, and I was already having enough issues dealing with melding Mediterranean and Northern European styles, now you had to go and give me more ideas for texturing options....

Thank you everyone for first of all pushing me to practice my talents and develop my skills and requesting more harbor themed products, of which I hope this is the first of a long line of . Also Thanks for such a supportive community and contest and for ll the votes I got on this model among a very tough competition from a broad wealth of talented designers and artists.
All said, it took me less than 15 minutes to invest my winnings in more papercraft designs from OBS that i hope to eventually build, and that still only eliminated about 1/3 of my wish list...lol
Already mulling over a concept for next years competition, something a little unusual that I feel will really push my skills as a designer and artist, and looking forward to the response that it will get...
Congratulations once again to all who entered, it definitely made for a fun and educational contest!
