Just showcasing what I've done so far for my city board. First up is Tommy Gun's Pawn Shop that I kit-bashed into a Fold-Flat Model: Build with minis for scale (bases of the larger minis are about 2-3 inches. There is a Terra Force Trooper by the door. The police SUV is a Road Rippers toy car from Dollar Tree. Next is an incomplete Kit-Bash of Horseman's Deli/MagiClean Dry Cleaning free model from Microtactix, using Two Print outs of the building, two sheets of mis-prints, and a couple of boxes I snagged from Work: Here is Tommy Gun's Grocery Store, also built around some boxes. I wanted these two building to double as storage when flipped over: I am presently building a couple more Tommy Gun models around a custom Foam Core box, and then another of the Deli/MagiClean duplexes. For the pair of Duplexes, I plan on having one use the Signs that came with the model (the Deli and the Dry Cleaners) and the other will have custom made signs (or some snagged from Tommy Gun's site. Will post more pics when ready.

Buildings/Storage boxes - Excellent. WotC did a bit of this with their Dungeon Tiles Master Sets (the boxes provided elevated terrain of the type of the set...) For example:

TommyGun also did a lot of 'nesting' pieces. His Hex Buildings all fit inside each other, but take up little space when not in use. I think he used his big office building for storage, too.

Yeah, but I didn't care for just card-stock walls. The larger the building the more it will buckle if you don't double-layer the card-stock. And even with as much scrap as I have, that's a lot of card-stock for some of the larger buildings. Plus with sticking a normal box inside they should hold up a little better.

I found the bulette and the ankylosaurus, but not the rust monster or bugbear. You say they are worth some money?

Yeah, when I was looking for those I saw that they were going for a good chunk of change. Well, more than what I would pay for anyway.

my problem with his models is all of the stores are not proportioned well. Plus my wife told me I had enough buildings and wasn't allowed to make any more right now. Right now I'm looking at doing up a Fire Engine similar to Greywolf's Wild-Hunt Charter Bus (found here - greywolf.critter.net/paper.htm). All of the fire engines I've found so far have too many fiddlybits and I hate fiddly bits.

FOLD FLAT! Search for those keywords here, you'll find lots of tricks to make buildings and stuff fold-flat.

While I wouldn't use that model as is, it has a few textures I can borrow for personal use.

I was thinking it might give you a façade and parking area that you could use on another of your buildings to give you some variety.

Okay, needed a quick project and thought back to the firetruck question here. kids.nifty.com/handmade/paper/vehicle/01/index.htmOkay, the side mirrors and step bumper were a pain, but look much better with, than without. The detail parts are worth the extra effort. Also, I didn't want a license plate that says '@nifty', so I changed it to 'FIRE'. The tabs on the rack would leave the rack hanging off the back, so I moved them back so that the rack is flush with the back of the truck. It's supposed to be 1/48 on A4. I was able to print it at 98% and get it to fit on Letter
