OK, using the very nice Stargate standees made by scarecrow as a foundation, I created some Kemet infantry for my wife. Eight different poses so far, I am working on getting some female troops and a few leaders in there as well. Kemet Landing Party PDFEDIT: Finished!

Worth saying too that these minis have uses well beyond "just" science-fiction settings, given there's nothing too high-tech looking among their gear.

Who is going to do a set of these as Egyptian deities? That would really seem logical

An Egyptian theme would be cool. Temples, huts, Nile boats, stone blocks en-route to the pyramids, chariots, nobles, craftsmen, farmers. That could be a great hoard

Oh gods yes please to Egyptian Hoard theme. My wife's biggest interest is Ancient Egypt and even uses Hatshepsuut aa her online name.

Worth saying too that these minis have uses well beyond "just" science-fiction settings, given there's nothing too high-tech looking among their gear. I can see using these as a pseudo-egyptian elven culture, given their long ears and my own enjoyment of non-human races that diverge from standard northern-european fantasy tropes. The arms, particularly on the women, are a little bit beefy for how I expect elves to look, but I could easily fix that by moving the black outline in. (And that's a personal-taste thing, anyway--others might not agree.) Well done!

I was just looking at the group instead of individuals, but the women's arms would be my own quibble, too. Although, I've never met a real Kemet woman, so I have nothing to base that opinion on

jeffgeorge : the long ears and glowing eyes are stolen from the Blood Elves of World Of Warcraft. They are my wife's favorite race in the game (which is a shared hobby of ours.) The arms on the females are beefy because I was lazy and in a hurry to get them done. It is hardly noticeable when they are printed and assembled. My wife is also a big fan of Ancient Egypt and Aztec themes, so she wanted the Egyptian look for her own created faction. Vermin King: Overall the Kemet are heavier then they should be, but I was working with Scarecrow's models and I am just not quite that good yet lol! Maybe in a year I will know how to give them a more willowy build.

I hope you don't mind, but I pulled out one of the females and did about 10 minutes of fiddling in GIMP: Mostly, I just used a round black brush to push the outlines of the arms and torso in. I wind up adjusting the angle of the upper arms a bit, to make them connect to the shoulders on the narrowed torso better; I did that just by picking up the skin tone and painting just a couple of pixels inside the upper arms, and using black on the outer edge to make the thickness of the arms more feminine. I also took the liberty of blacking in the "trapped whitespace" under the arms and between the legs, because if I were finishing these minis out for use, I'd color those spaces with a black Sharpie rather than cut them out with an Xacto. I did this mostly as a response to your comment, "I was working with Scarecrow's models and I am just not quite that good yet lol! Maybe in a year I will know how to give them a more willowy build." I don't think you're "a year" away from that--I think you underestimate your skill. I'm 100% confident that the changes I made are within your abilities today--assembling these figures from divergent sources, as you did, is much harder than trimming the biceps the way I did. Don't be afraid to give it a shot! (Of course, as I said in my first comment, whether you should do this is a matter of personal artistic style, and your vision of male and female Kemets. For all we know, female Kemets are the larger, more muscular gender! That's up to you and your wife, as the creators of the race, to decide.) Edit: I should have pointed out, I did leave her pretty muscular for a female, btw, since she's apparently some sort of elite guard or soldier, and is probably a relatively athletic female for her species.

jeffgeorge: I do not at all mind you moding my mod of scarecrow's work. In fact, I welcome it! My only wish would be that this could have bern done *before* I printed them... but I haven't done any assembly yet, so I can print out the new version the next time I am by Office Depot

Sorry. Really, the mods I made are minor, and are intended to make the lady Kemets look more like female elves--which may or may not be to anyone's taste other than mine. I wouldn't not assemble the ones you've already printed, especially if you're having to go out for printing. Maybe those are just some really butch female guards. (shrug)

No need to be sorry! I was attempting that "humour" thing you Terrans seem so fond of! Really, from two to three feet away, it is hardly noticeable. if I print another sheet I will certainly be using your mod!

Hi, I'm looking for a version of the Stargate Jaffa with the machine gun that appears on the image, on paper. I tried to do it but the results have not been good. So give more variety to the Stargate paper miniatures. Someone could help you. If this post is not correct here change it.

I'm poor at figures to begin with and with my Gimp issues lately...
I'm intrigued by the machine blaster. I can visualize how to do it, so I might give it a shot tonight
I'm assuming you want a 2.5d machine gun

Y'all are on top of it faster than me. I'm jammed until the weekend. If y'all don't have one done by Satyrday, ping my. I can already visualize how to do it.
