Dont know if anyone has tried this stuff but its pretty good. Applied lightly over several coats add a clear smooth plastic covering with no yellowing. Pretty toxic but the smell fades away after a day or two. 8r

My missus uses that stuff to coat the crafts (wooden tree decorations etc) that she makes as part of her business. Been meaning to give it a try on my paper minis....... So were you using the gloss one? Cheapest place to get it is The Range, by the way

Would this stuff work to protect paperback books? My initial reaction to this question was, if it would protect paperback books, libraries would have been using it for decades, perhaps under a different brand name. But maybe not, since spraying sealant is probably to messy and time consuming a project for a library to do much of. That said, I would think that since the covers of paperback books need to be flexible in order to be read, the coating would develop stress or wear cracks over time if the book were actually used. And of course, you'd have to be super careful when coating to only hit the outside of the cover and spine, because the coating would stick pages together if it hits them. As a teacher and a parent, the way we protect soft-cover workbooks and text books is with a clear contact paper actually made for coating books. There's definitely a knack to doing a neat job with this stuff, but it's nothing a paper-crafter can't handle, and it doesn't make a cloud of fumes and overspray where you're working, so you can use it all year round!

Yes I used the gloss one, put minis in a box and sprayed in from a distance (minis stood up and spraying down), let dry and repeated a few times. Feels alot more even than direct spraying on, no pooling and a load can be done together economically.
I guess it would work on paperback, probs best to test on a old one you dont care about loosing. Never been to the range but will have a wee look if i get a chance, will defo beat hobbycraft in the fort anyways lol.

It is very specific to Edinburgh - near which both 8rad and myself live. Fear not!!! "The Fort" is Fort Kinnaird - an out of town shopping centre, which has a branch of Hobbycraft in it. "The Range" is a discount household good store not too far from there - at a place called "The Jewel" just to add further colour. Edinburgh has such wonderful place and street names!!!!

Ah, colorful names. Once while on vacation, my dad booked us a cabin at 'Possum Hollow'. With a name like that, we should have known better
