Would it be inappropriate to add a goat or cow to the set? Probably IIRC, all you really need is a ragged-ended rope tied to a stake in the ground...

You are an unlimited source of new modelling goodness, thank you a lot If you copy and paste only the mediafire link on that page, without clicking it, it works!!!

That's good to know. Thanks
Since most of these have been done before for my friend's son, Isaiah, I don't anticipate any problems. The Explorer is a bit large. For Isaiah, I printed two pages per page, which made it a bit small (lots of blank area). By copying and pasting on a new document, I only had to reduce to 85%, which should be much better. I don't know what I'll have to do to the jeep to get it to match the scale of the Explorer, but that isn't for a while, yet
I re-worked 'dinosaur 09' to get two of the buggers on the same page. Didn't have to change the scale

Yesterday I was looking at some four legged figs I made a little while ago and I realised that instead of folding mirrors of the legs up under, all I really needed to do was glue the fig to a piece of construction paper that more or less matched the dominant leg colour. At least at 30mm scale, no one is going to notice the texture on the inside of the leg at gaming distance and a mirror of the outside of the legs would be technically wrong anyway.
Kids will probably play differently with your dino's but I just thought I would mention it.

When I did some of these before, I used tablet backing to beef up the bases, but they held up pretty well. As luck would have it, momirfarooq just posted some 'alien' trees that might have to get done, www.momirfarooq.com/swcharacter/swcharacter3d.html

I was hoping to knock out a lot of this today, but my printer wasn't recognizing my Wi-Fi network (Comcast re-set me again), and Brother tech support is now Monday-Friday. So I troubleshooted it myself and was (surprisingly) able to fix it myself. Project is back to being a Go.

Kamikami has no stegosaurus! I think I need one, but looking at images and comparing to the kamikami dinos, I'm not sure I am up to the challenge, but we'll see I also don't understand why on the jeep, the three models I've seen are all number 12 I thought about modding Dave's Dixie Jeep from the Koolwheelz collection, since it is open, but it is a 70's jeep, lines are wrong. I despise the front end of the first jeep mentioned, so I took bumpers and spare tire from Jesse's Papercruiser Jeeps and I think I have it worked out to scale and fit

The reason for my rant -- 1. I knew that this was going to be a somewhat lacking model, so I put time into trying to fix the obvious problems 2. The designer obviously never built it himself And how do I know he never built it??? I'll have to print another page of fixes (full tire backs, a body-width tailgate, axles to pull the wheels back into place) or pitch it. I'll probably work on fixing it 'as a learning experience

The bumpers I was putting on it helped the appearance a lot. I'm going to put a properly-sized tailgate on some empty space on one of my dino templates, but if I just do a Fixes page, I could create side panels that look more jeep-like. And I can have the proper wheels. I dunno
I've collected several images now and think I'm going to do the model three posts up. Proper hood decal, license plates, color sampling. This model has a shell instead of a soft-top, but it would still be preferable, I think.
All I know is that I've put to much time into this one, and with the fixes, it would be better, but still not that good

Ahhh... I love the sweet scent of perfectionism in the morning...

I don't know if it is perfectionism, but at least the tailgate should have reached across. I like to at least have things close. I don't know if you remember the Jaguar I did, but it was a model with issues that I was able to turn into a pretty nice little model.
I don't claim to be perfect, and I know how errors can creep in, but this is a bit of a mess. A mess that doesn't make sense to me. I don't know why he didn't put a front bumper on it or check to see if it was buildable. He could have drawn on straight detail over the front wheels instead of the curve.
But it is what it is. I'm half tempted to tweak the heck out of this and contact the original designer and send to him

Time could have been better spent, but I messed with this mess this afternoon. Made a repaint in the unique grey. And fixed the tailgate on the original I added the original tan tailgate to the grey one, because I don't need two # 12's, but I wanted a somewhat fixed file for my collection

Even with my own stuff there are sometimes strange things happening. When I patched up the science outpost, the TOS bridge and the sickbay initially did not line up size-wise, even though they were both created using the same grid and 300dpi... Btw, great work, you did there with the Jeep!

Thanks. #18 is the initial jeep they ride in from the helicopter and is seen later in the movie, too. I might do it with the new shadowing, which I think really looks good. If I do, I'll also re-work the fender flare over the rear wheel wells and change the rear bumper so that it doesn't wrap around. Or I might just try the other Jeep template. But since it is already the 5th, I should probably just move on.

lightning was mentioning dinosaur/orc buildings... I probably would do ramps to represent the stairs, but this doesn't look overly difficult when you break it down, allowing for the use of graphics to represent some detailing, and no railings around the roof ... hmmm Too late for this year, and Zoe being six, she'll be interested in something else next year ... EDIT -- I think the visitor center would be easier than the Raptor Paddock

Oh, I never posted version 3 of the Jeep, #18 Better, but I still probably should have just made my own. Pat's Explorer is started this AM. A bit easier than the last time I built it. The first time I built it, I just printed at 2 pages per page, and it came out looking like Hot Wheelz scale. This time I rearranged the parts, reduced to 85% to fit on one page, then realized I could enlarge to 103% and still be able to print everything. It will be pretty much a standard build except for the roof lights. Pat has them at the back of the roof extension, but they should be right behind the sunroof.

Pat is one of the main folks to get me into the paper hobby. He designs some wonderful models (like the ZZ Top Eliminator), collects Tatebanko, does museum exhibits of paper art, and writes children's books, illustrated with his paper models. He also teaches papercrafting to kids.
The JP Explorer is just one of his creations, and it is very nicely done

I like those trees! They might look good with my lizardmen. Have you tried these yet, or am I going to be the guinea pig? You're going to have to guinea pig this one. I actually don't have time to build other models or play any of the games these are for. I just lurk in the dark like some kind of horrible cardstock brood-queen, and spawn paper beasts for the elite who are better at time management then me
