Beautiful piece. The last photo helps to explain how you kept it secret. I hope they were suitably impressed

You're completely and utterly crazy (in a good way!) - I'm very impressed.

Thanks. I swear it took 2 years of my life to finish all that. I've now got a TON of pieces to use for builds, but it was a lot of work to put all this together.

What is that interior lighting solution? They are all synchronized, so I don't think they are just a bunch of "tea lights."...
How many bulbs is that?

What is that interior lighting solution? They are all synchronized, so I don't think they are just a bunch of "tea lights."... How many bulbs is that? Each floor has one of these strung throughout it and positioned so the LEDs point out toward the transparency windows. I managed to wedge them between TLX walls and TLX posts at the narrowest part of the strips in order to run the string throughout the floor. The end, and thus the control box, of each string is at the back right corner of the castle. (conveniently out of view for most pictures, but can be seen in this one) With all of those control boxes clustered together, any 1 of the remotes can control them all, though they're cheap, so sometimes I had to hit a button a few times to get them all in sync. I tried using splitters to run multiple strings off of a single control box, but that worked for only a short time and then 1 string would stop working. The towers at the top instead have 4 of these LED tea lights in each. They have 3 LEDs in each of those little discs. They're controlled via remote, as well, but the range is really poor, so I had to put the remote right up against the transparency windows to get it to work. Plus, their light is a bit weaker than the LED strips and they run on batteries, so they don't last all that long before they get noticeably weaker. I tried using the strips for those, but they're just too big and inflexible and cardstock just doesn't want to hold that stuff in place very well. Doing all the math, there should have been a total of 786 individual LEDs inside that castle.

I suppose I should have provided a breakdown of what sets are in use in this. All are from World Works Games with kitbashing to use magnets to connect tiles, to connect posts to tiles, and to connect roofs to trusses. (Do not ask me how many magnets there are in total--if I added them all up, I might have a heart attack!)
The pyramid is from Pharaoh's Descent using my Seamless Exteriors kitbash The castle is from Lair of the Dragon God combined with the window transparencies from Cathedrae Noctis and Hellworks The streets are from Streets of Himmelveil The grass tiles are from The Garden The gray stone buildings are from Inn of the Feisty Friar The yellow stone buildings are from Shellendrak West Wing The wood and plaster buildings are from Thoumont's TLX The roofing was kitbashed heavily to allow me to mix and match them to whatever buildings I wanted, but are from: - Blue roofs are from Thoumont's TLX - Brown roofs are from Deadfall Building Essentials - Green roofs are from Shellendrak West Wing - Red roofs are from Inn of the Feisty Friar - Purple roofs are recolored from the green roofs of Shellendrak West Wing

Epic build, and flawlessly executed. I told several people at work about papercuts, and they asked to see what I had entered. I showed them all of the entries saving yours for last as the "but wait 'til you see this". All were impressed.

That ranks right up there with my neighbor's 3 year old telling his dad at bedtime, "The coolest thing I saw today was James's castle."
