Looking for foliage/tree generators, I found one I think that I like, although it will take some experimenting with. It is an extension for Sketchup called 3D Tree Maker ( extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/3d-tree-maker ). It comes with lots of presets, 6 for grass, 74 different trees, 21 different flowers, 38 different leaves, plus a massive customization menu. I need to do some experimenting, but it also looks like you might be able to add your own leaf and bark textures to its extensive libraries. Unfortunately, it hasn't been updated to Sketchup17/18 yet, so you need sketchup 2015 to fully access the customization menu. ( links to Sketchup2015: Sketchup Make 2015 64-Bit ) With some work, I feel this will work to develop brach/leaf textures that I am looking for for my Elven models. Anyways, here is how a quick test I did came out: And how it looks printed out:

Thanks for the info! I'm always looking for more sources of outdoor scenery.

This looks very promising although I find the foliage visually too chaotic. I have been trying to tackle this for the last 3 years probably and not yet found something that satisfies me. Maybe I am too picky :-) Looking forward how this develops.
