I actually painted it. All it is, is a black cardboard that you can get at any craft store or larger supermarkets, some white paint (acrylic based) long bristle paint brushes and a toothbrush... I am actually in the middle of making a tutorial video with my kid for my youtube channel about it LOL... at the moment we stuck with what to call him... he insists on being called scooby doo... I did order some prints of a digital version i made and created these for intrim pictures but to be honest i now love these, they cheap, quick and easy to make with great looking results. I will experiment a bit with colours as well to bring in the red and yellows of some of the stars...

Nice, I was able to get it yesterday.. very nice set I must say. Well done !!! GO TEAM Greymatter!! erm.. ok now i sound american...
just two small teeny weeny points:
1. Would be nice to have one page with all alomancers on the page, I had to hack and chop it so that I can print one alomancer of each
2. Why only one pyromancer? I love the guy... in a pure plutonic respect level.
Ill upload a few pics sometime with them in mortal battle with the shock and rocket troopers... ;-)

LOL it was actually harder than i thought it would be... I kept knocking over the ships when i was looking through the iphone screen and only had any real success when i looked at just guiding the fighter, but then you could not see the other ships....
I think this particular takes was 23 and 24th hehe...
;D ;D ;D then the video is a success. I cut the sound out as i was making flying sounds and sounded as if i was a bit special... it was surprising fun flying around them... i actually ended up flying around the house and attacking the dog... but due to the narrow focus of the camera you cant see much.
I lost two when i accidentally dropped them.. they are small but surprisingly easy to make if you are very very careful... They are my favorite models from the set.

OK i could not help myself, the kid and i was playing and hooked up a little rig so the tiny fighter could be attached to my iphone... and well... here is the result..
yes yes i know you can see the wires... it was done in a few hours...
but it gives you a nice flyby view of all of the starter set's ships...

ok.. texture done, test build done... now the instructions start :S This will be the initial starter set. As mentioned before there is a few more that will be released over time. The set contains: 1x Battleship 2x Frigates 1x Freighter 1 x set of fighters. This is a modular system and it will be difficult to tell how many variations or different ships can be built by combining all the various ships pieces. Modding and kit bashing will be encouraged.

My son likes the simpler models he also prefers to play with my untextured test builds instead of the final textured versions because he can "paint them like he wants" which is basically covering them in green felt tipped pen.

I might actually just release an introduction set of 4...
1 x Battleship 2 x Frigates 1 x Freighter
also a weapons pack and teeny fighters.
From these you should be able to have a large number of unique variations.
i have at least 6 other ships and a space station that needs to go through the unfolding process so plenty for future releases if the demand is there.

LOL well you downloaded the dusted off goblins and you would have seen i have a new CC BY-NC-SA license on the free stuff im i'll be doing. It basically mean CC - Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike... so free to use for non comercial purposes (unless consent is given) as long as the work is attributed to the creator and that others share their work as well... creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/thats actually a decent site and it allows you to create your license and gives you the code for your website and images and the works...

Hmm... yes its an very old version of the download helper i have running on my site... there is a new version but it was incompatible with the wordpress version i have... hmm ok ill need to see If i can get it not popping up.... oh yeay such fun having to dig through someone elses PHP code....
Thank you very much, they very old and done totally different than i do my figures now, so they a bit fuzzy. Actually you are 100% correct, they were intended to be my take on the goblins of moria.
I'll probably end up doing this dusting off of all my historic stuff, the style and textures are quite dated. But not till i finished my current projects.

Many moons ago I created my first set of Paper figures (2003 or 2004 cant remember), at the stage I was unaware people actually used paper figures in their RPG tabletop games and it was more for the paper buildings i was doing at the time. I completely forgot about them till I stumbled across them on an old backup drive and thought i would give them a quick once over. They just mirror images front and back and I'd rather recreate them from scratch than try to emulate a technique I havent used in years. (once my current projects are done) You can download the full set for free here: desktopwargames.com/goblins-dusted-off-a-bit/
