Alrighty, I am making a good stab at finishing my Blue World scenery, and now I am thinking of fauna for it. I have a couple of Happy Meal toys of Air Buffalos (The Last Airbender) and Hammerheads (Avatar) so my theme is mammalian and six legs. I am wondering what color theme the animals of my blue world should have. Red and pink are right out because I used those for my Pink World. Ideas? EDIT: the Blue World terrain is done. At least for now. Blue Glitter Apocalypse and all that. Here is what it looks like:

Color me odd, but in a blue world, I think black, white and gray would be appropriate. Think marine and polar creatures. I think it would fit, without blending in too much or being too contrasting.
Or I could be totally screwy

Ya know what I think? I think people are needlessly afraid of the obvious. Blue animals for blue world.

Ya know what I think? I think people are needlessly afraid of the obvious. Blue animals for blue world. That was my first thought. And I went the "pink fauna for a pink world" with my last terrain endeavour. But I wanted to do it a bit differently this time.

And I was seriously looking at them to see which would make good 6-leggers EDIT -- This would make a fine-looking blue fellow, if I did it in the tent-style

Carnivore, herbivore or omnivore? Travel lone or herd? Medium, large or extra large?
I am assuming when you say six legs, you are referring to movie Avatar things that basically double up on front legs, right?
Just trying to get a handle on what you are looking for

Just trying to get a handle on what you are looking for That's a nice raptor! I have the hammerhead critter from Avatar and the air bison from The Last Airbender so far (two of each) so if I were going for some papercraft models, I'd be looking for some man-sized carnivores that would probably be just flat standees. As time goes by, I seem less able to cut out fiddly bits for small 3d models o.0
And the Reaper has these that I was considering picking up:

Some of those prehistoric beasties should fit. I had to redevelop my limited skill at developing the opposite sides on the last hoard, and repositioning legs, and figuring out how the muscle groupings should appear. So, I think that this might not be a bad time to try helping you out EDIT -- Six legs and blue, right, Punkrabbitt?

I think blue would be good for the predators, yes

I think the Machairodus would be a good candidate to become a Machairodus Hexapodus

I'll have to see which ones work out best with 6 legs, but if you get in a hurry and can deal with 4 legs, these might help get you by

Not nearly the same thing as the tent beasties. With those you just had to make the body match on each side and you could design limbs to look right without having to give the other side much thought. For flats, you have to think of how the legs of the other side look. Six legs compounds things. Does the extra set work with the front ones or the back or independently? I did this one more like the movie Avatar beasts where the middle pair is almost a double of the front pair
I do like the paired shoulder concept, but I think for the Hoplophoneus at the bottom and the Thyracoleo, top right, I am going to try to make the front pair more like arms, but when I do the hell pig and the Andrewsarchus and Hyenadon, I think I'm going to have to do them similarly to the Machairodus

Just trying to help you out a bit. Although I think that I am going to move on to the saloon once I finish the Hoplophoneus. I suppose you could throw some quadrupeds in there, too, unless you feel like doing the 6-leg mods on your own. Frankly, I am leaning towards just doing a mirror back on the Hoploshoneus...

Hope your printer starts cooperating My current plan is to set it on fire and buy a new printer from a different maker.
