I have wanted to make a build video for a while now and finally have a camera mount that allows for top down placement while recording (not requiring my girl friend to be the camera man ... or rather woman!).
I have started recording a build video for the War Brig from the Pirate Fleet Builder series as this is one of the more complex models and feedback I got suggested it will help to show how it's done (versus trying to explain it all in words). I needed to upgrade my Blender and Audacitiy skills for video and audio recording but I got to a place that I am happy with the results. I hope I can improve lighting in the future. Need to study my camera if I can find more options that will help but I fear this is the limiting option so far. But other than that I hope that the "message" is transported in this video successfully.
I made my first try last week and showed it to to a few "testers" for feedback. Now I got the feedback incorporated and you can watch the first step: the core assembly!!!
If you can subscribe on YT, because once I reach >100 subscribers I can name my channel. Also I would love to see some comments there (and also here ). In case you are missing stuff, I am planning to make an Intro-Video showcasing the model in general and explaining the printing part with all the customization layers. Also I plan to make a video or series focusing on the basics like printing, scoring, cutting and gluing for beginners. And of course the remaining parts of the brig too! I hope to do these all in the upcoming weeks and months.

I have uploaded the second part of the build video for the warbrig! This time we are adding the outer hull parts
I have learnt a lot making the first video and wanted to correct these issues in the new video. I found a way my camera can record 1920x1080! Studying the manual does help I also was able to implement whitebalance correction in Blender video editor, so the lighting and color grading should look way more consistent this time.
For the time lapse sections I added background music (although it ends very abrupt then the timelapse ends ... have to work on that the next video). All in all I like it much better than the first.
It does take a lot of time and work to make these. I have a new found admiration for all those youtubers cranking out video after video. I rather make stuff on my cutting mat But I think the video will show so much better than the instruction videos how easy the build is so it's worth it to me.
Anyway, enjoy the video (if you can ) and again, if you could subscribe to the channel to help me reach 100 subscribers so I can customize the channel name, that would be appreciated very much!!!

In the meantime I have added more videos. I am at part four now! This is where the model is at now. Waiting for the masts (which I am currently recording )
I am still a bit under 100 subscribers. So if you want to help, please subscribe so I can reach the 100 when I can customize my channel name on Youtube! Thanks you guys!!!

Next chapter is done! Starting building the masts from the sailing rig. Content grew up sooo large I had to split this one. Even the first part alone is quite long but I hope it all gets explained well.

I was able to complete the missing part 2 for the masts and upload it! Nothing holding you back building 'em now I need to focus now on the next set release a bit but I look forward to continuing this series soon.

The link in the Mast Part 1 video post is broken, I think. It seems to open another tab of the post here!

Working on the next video - the ratlines - I remembered that I need to make an introduction video explaining the layers. I often get asked how to customize and what this or that layer is for. So I squeezed in this new intro video! BTW I am at 91 subs. I just need 9 more so I can customize my channel name on Youtube and have a great christmas
