There were several folks on the Carnevale Fan Facebook page that were using the cardstock 'boxes' supplied. The walls on these are wonderfully textured. The flat roofs, not wonderful at all. Also, the way the roof/lid slides into place is somewhat sloppy. Someone asked if anyone had designed a 3d roof, so naturally, I had to oblige. gothique supplied me with the dimensions of the footprint of the buildings, and using glennwilliams's Back Alleys roof concept, I came up with a roof that fits (when printed Actual Size). Better textures, and a pitch that folks can place figures on. gothique and monstersbtm did test builds for me. It is sort of like any car model looking better with nicer wheels. Giving these buildings a nice roof, with eaves, makes them pop.

Without the new roof, those buildings may have languished forgotten.

I think I'll probably improve the buildings further. Maybe I'll double some elements like windows or door frames, following the guided by papier schnitzel. Those little houses are cute but with a little bit of work can truly stand out. Vk, you ignite my creativity 😊
