I think before I venture into the realm of trying to mimic eddnic's style on my own figures, I might do some of these rescaled, but 'as designed', and then do the eddnic treatment on them and compare.

My biggest realisation with my 2.5 experiments is that you should draw the shoulders twice: once to look good from the front and once to look good from the side. The figures you posted above do this.
