At one of the Senior Primary Care clinics, I have been doing papercrafting workshops. At my April event we had four reservations, but only two attendees. For yesterday's event, we had rain. Four of the six showed, one was from the first workshop. The Community Room manager took some photos this time. The first (April) project was 3-Eyed Bear's Showy Lady's Slipper Orchid, northamericanorchidcenter.org/orchid-gami/ . Yesterday's was the Canon Fortune Kitten, creativepark.canon/en/contents/CNT-0027748/index.htmlRachel said that she wished everyone could hear the laughing and excitement, but here are the photos she took Janet's vision isn't very good, so I had to assist her with some of the cutting, but at least she came back. Shirley and her disabled daughter think that they would really like to do more of these 'together' projects. Lee, photo 3, is caught up in the excitement of taking a flat piece of paper and making roundish 3d things. He says he may bring in some more models when we meet in June. June's project is going to be a slightly reworked Little House from Beatriz Vega, paperprairie.art.blog/2019/11/10/littlehouse/

This is really wonderful. Papercraft has such a nice visceral quality to it.

I wish they didn't have a one-hour limit. So many projects can be done in an hour and a half.
The folks Wednesday were already talking about how in an hour and a half, we could talk more about things more, rather than being in a rush. My view of this is to show folks a hobby they had not seen, give them projects to keep their hand/eye coordination up, and a chance to socialize. An hour doesn't really do that.
If we can't get the expanded time slot, they also wanted to know if we could do two-part projects.
I think it sounds positive

The June project will be a mod of the Ingalls Family Little House. Cleaned up the roof texture, capped the chimney and added the structure tabs at the bottom.

An enticing bit of nostalgia there on a couple of levels. Should reel them in.
