I'm trying to finalize something... Edit: My test build shows a lot of problems with pylons and stands, stations will noty stay up. Maybe too big. I need to think something different, so I'm unable to complete the project... or maybe not. Made a pair of tweaks... details in the thread

Awfully quiet. I had an idea for a tileset, but as I was in Germany on holiday for 2 weeks, I didn't have the time.

So this year's Papercuts is now going to get pushed back as next year's Procrastinator's Hoard?

Well this is unfortunate. It appears to have been a rough paper crafting year for many people, myself included. I'm still on the road for the next week, when I get home I'd like to have a serious discussion about Hoards and Papercuts, thanks.

It could be that I just got off of work and am really tired, but that sounds ominous.

Well this is unfortunate. It appears to have been a rough paper crafting year for many people, myself included. I'm still on the road for the next week, when I get home I'd like to have a serious discussion about Hoards and Papercuts, thanks. To be honest, I've been finding this in a number of other spheres this year too. It's almost as if it's a weird kind of post-Covid-lockdowns fatigue, as people try to get back more to how their lives ran before the pandemic. Plus, while I can't speak for how things are elsewhere now, almost everything seems to take longer to arrange in the UK now - again a lot of this is down to backlogs post-Covid (aside from our own-self-inflicted problems here, of course...). I think we've all noticed how quiet the CWF has been this year, and I'm as guilty as anyone of this, I know. I simply haven't had the time and energy spare for paper-crafting, although I still try to drop-by here most days. Kris of Crooked Staff seems to have been by far the most active product creator, with regular fresh items and endless wonderful videos, so it ain't doom & gloom everywhere at least! One other issue I've found is that DriveThru have forced me into their new-site testing community, and I find their reworked site virtually unusable (pages are far too busy, finding the right spot to click for information or to download stuff is far too well hidden, for instance - anyone who remembers how bad the old 4Shared site could be - probably still is, if it's still there - might get an idea). I've made these, and more, comments to them very forcibly, but am still stuck having to view their site only this way (I tried going incognito on Chrome for a while, but even that ended up trapped with their ghastly "new" site). Consequently, I've simply stopped going to DTRPG at all, unless I have a link to specific product. To access my account there, I go through one of alternative sites, usually Wargame Vault, as those still seem to be mostly OK. So the chances of me spotting new papercraft items for creators I'm not already following there have now dropped to zero (unless they're posted on WV, which most don't). I'd be inclined to suggest we write-off this year, and defer the Hoards at least to 2024, where possible, to see if things pick-up as the pandemic further recedes (assuming it does so - given the recent new variant strain appearing). Maybe run a Procrastinator's Hoard in December to sweep-up anything from this year as well? This doesn't help for Papercuts though, I appreciate.

These are good thoughts, I also have thoughts, unfortunately I'm living in a parking lot in Canada for the foreseeable future. I know there are many things, model and figure-wise, that I want to finish and would enjoy working on. There are pieces of the site that I want to expand, I have just had no time and energy for a very long time. This forum is near the top of my list of things that I want to keep alive and help it prosper.

Not meant to be, I'm just personally overwhelmed right now and I feel bad that I've neglected this house.

I was referring to 'unfortunately I'm living in a parking lot in Canada for the foreseeable future'
That seems pretty scary to me

I was referring to 'unfortunately I'm living in a parking lot in Canada for the foreseeable future' That seems pretty scary to me The rv that I'm bringing back from Idaho ran into some issues in Alberta Canada, everything was closed Sunday night, Monday is a holiday and a lot of people weren't answering phones at repair shops or rv parks so I was trying to rest in a Walmart parking lot. Not the best place to stay. I finally got into an rv park, with wifi, and hopefully I can get into a repair shop tomorrow morning and get back on the road to home. Still a long ways to go.

I've had two trips to Alaska via road trips, and neither panned out.
It would be rather hard to bring an RV in carry-on luggage on a plane, though

I was happy to partecipate to Papercuts. Maybe a too easy win... squirmydad , are you going to do a poll for best of show? IMHO, there are too few entry. I second wyvern , maybe we can put Hoards on stand by, and let everyone complete their project for a "2023 summary" hoard. Our (we) fellows warriors are really quiet. "Real life" is demanding sacrifices, in terms of time and energy. I almost quit everything hobby-related, due to family life... Edit: Not to mention the fact that some of us are active on Patreon, so I think that they have very little time left...

Patreon is almost more of a time-thief than Facebook.
I spent almost two hours on Patreon last night 'catching up'. That's two hours I could have been doing something.
Social media is a catch-22
EDIT --
Not to mention, that two hours just identified things that I need to follow up on...

But at least this all shows we do still drop-by here, and do feel strongly enough to want to try to improve matters! Just the actual issue of turning that desire into reality which is holding things back right now. While I've avoided most Patreons - mostly because if I download things, I don't have time/energy to do anything with them (and I already have vast amounts of papercraft models I'd still like to make from years ago) - I have a similar time-thief problem with Discords, so can sympathise with the issues involved. Thankfully I was never on FB or any of the other platforms of that kind. Good luck getting the RV repaired and back underway squirmydad as soon as possible.

Edit: Not to mention the fact that some of us are active on Patreon, so I think that they have very little time left... I'm still going to Best of Show, three entries still three entries. And extra time has rarely helped complete projects and I feel extending the Showcase time for more entries is unfair to people who completed their projects on time. I will get this set up today as I'm headed into regions with really bad or no connectivity.
