I have been treasure hunting in the forums the last few months. The image above was from shep's posts, and I went on a search for okumarts's alien plants in my hard drive, with no luck. Now that I have them, I wanted to build a few. More are coming, but time is still short these days. Dave, these are pure genius EDIT --

I'm so glad. They can be a bit tippy...

I was wondering about that, but I built 'As-Is'
I had an idea on that, but I won't even mention it, since I don't have much time to do things I want to try
EDIT --
I just have them set up on a tv tray, but I have to give it a pretty good nudge before they fall over. Somewhat surprised after your comment

A less 'tippy' version. This gives a longer base and lower center of gravity.

Like, wow man! Soaking up those juicy '70s vibes! 👍 Yes, indeed. It sounds like you are ready for okumarts Alien Trees. Can't tell you when it will be released, but I think it sounds like the process has been started. You can look at this as a preview of the preview. The final product will be different than my mods that Dave gave me permission to post. I did not plan on posting anything about the Alien Trees Preview until later, but your post is a terrific lead-in. I had planned on having some of this version built before posting, but that won't be until tonight. In the meantime, you can check out some of Dave's other material at preview.drivethrurpg.com/en/publisher/3639/okumarts-games

cowboycentaur recommended some glue that I find very useful on larger flats like this, but I didn't realize I used it all on the other trees. Had to make do with less quick-drying glue. Started off recycling some of my old schedules Gorilla glue was a waste. I came back after I thought they had time to dry, and they were dry. Also not glued together. Going back to Tacky Glue, I got them glued together, but did not have time to get them all cut and edged. I did want to point out that on the regular large tree and the fused one, the parts can be switched out.

Here's what we have for a Preview. I am really looking forward to what okumarts does on the re-envisioned set

This is looking so good! I think Extrastellar needs some alien flora. I was at a wargaming convention a few weekends ago and saw a really great Star Wars game being played with some fancy trees. Photo courtesy of the Rabbits in my Basement blog. rabbitsinmybasement.blogspot.com/2024/03/hot-lead-2024-lots-of-pictures-and-video.htmlIt got me thinking that a more ambitious set of 1960s and 70s classic sci fi era flora should exist.

Yes, indeed. It sounds like you are ready for okumarts Alien Trees. I was born ready! Space 1999 was my favourite TV show when it came out. Saturday mornings, I up before the ITV station started broadcasting! When the icecream van would come round, I would always have the Space 1999 ice-lolly: acid green ice outer with a gooey red inner filling and you got a card with it, just like the cigarette cards! Every 13th September, I raise a glass to our lost moon. My kids reckon it's just an excuse for a drink, because " Look dad, the moon is still there!" Yeah, right, when the moon was ripped from orbit, the space/time fabric was rent enough, so some of us got sucked into an alternate universe where it hasn't happened. Yet...

I totally get it. Most of my weekends were spent at my grandparents. In central Missouri before cable and satellite, Space 1999 came on at 11 PM Saturday nights, and I had permission to stay up and watch. In black and white... EDIT -- I want to make sure that everyone realizes, that what I have posted is more a proof-of-concept, not meant to be a full set to itself. I don't have the 'randomness' that I am sure okumarts will have in the real set. Needless to say, I am eagerly awaiting the set when it comes out.

The only other additional file I used for the tree line was a new double EDIT -- Rat is still in kitty prison, but recovering well Left eye still has issues, but looking much better. His right eye is good. Still hasn't gotten over his injured leg. But he seems to be adapting well to life in the bathroom
