For the animals theme I thought I'd try a Dire Rat, used the D&D mini dire rate for inspiration and after several aborted attempts got the below tonight that I'm reasonably happy with. I was trying for a standing on an angle look but it's beyond me at this stage . The far side legs are a bit wonky but I'll fix those when I inkscape trace, and I'll thin them down a little as well. and he's quiet a lanky beast

Looks good, just keep practicing it does get easier. I thought I'd never learn anatomy, and still don't, but things do get easier. JIM

And with Fantasy anatomy you can fake most of it anyway. Looking good!

Jim just saw your rat hound that was almost the exact angle I was trying to achieve plus one like that on it's haunches...
I can see were I was going wrong with my drawing from yours which is a big help for future ref.

Try tracing to get a feel for the shapes. It takes a bit of practice to get these things to even look sort of right, and I suck compared to a lot of artists.
The only way I have found to get better, is to draw, a lot, every day. JIM

I've gone back to the drawing board (pun intended) on this.
Been re-drawing Jims rathound a few times, also been randomly drawing/doodling people/weapons etc...Animal heads at an angle are tough...
I'm going to keep practicing for a few more days and then give the rat another go.

If you want to become as good as you can, doodle, doodle, doodle, sketch, sketch, sketch! Have fun! Steve
