Between practicing drawing I finished up my dune buggy (un textured), I started this about 18months ago, but hit some design issues got them sorted and completed a test build. Still working on streamlining a few of the parts etc: And a couple of pic's next to a wolverine I quickly assembled: I've tried to scale it to NCC/tera-force trooper size and the wolverine I think I might need to shrink it down a further 5% (its about 10cm long). That will be cool when finished. Heh, it could also be textured with a 'post apocalypse' texture for Mad Max type fun!

The basic design looks good, but it also looks kinda huge for a buggy. If you are scaling it to fit in with the Wolverines scale dimensions then you might consider reducing the size to no more than 50% of the length of the Wolverine. That's just my opinion though. Top gun: Also, when I see a box shape for a weapon my mind defaults to thinking it's some kind of missile launcher, which is just a minor quibble based on my own pre-expectations of shapes and their meanings in models. Is it intended to be a projectile or energy weapon? The TF could certainly use some kind of 'Desert Recon' arm.

Thanks for the feedback and Jim thanks for the board I hope I can make good use of it . Upper gun is sort of place holder , I've got two different designs in mind. Either a soldier standing up there manning the gun big chaingun/laser or I might do a sort of automated swivel turret and the gunner sits next to the driver. I like the classic manned gun look but can see from a soldiers view point being hunkered down inside gives more protection. I spent most of the day on house/yard repairs/maintenance but I did manage to re-scale the buggy to 90% of it's old size. it's about 8cm long now and I like the size better compared to a wolverine/soldiers, also tried out a new hexagon axle...still fiddly to build, but might be the best it gets Comments all welcome

I like the smaller one much better!
I'm thinking it needs a rear bumper or a tailgate or something on the back to break up the right angledness of it...

Good Ideas think I'll go with a bumper bar of some variety, trying to keep the buggy down to simple parts so it'll probably be a plain-ish rectangle .
I've started drawing in the detail on the surface of the layout hopefully I'll have the detail finished by the weekend then to try colouring/texturing it ;D

The color will certainly help to lift it up a bit. And I vote on the smaller design too. And it still fits a paper mini!

Took longer than I thought to add detail to the plain mesh, but detail added, there's a rear bumper back there as well . Gone to a plain square axle (diamond) heaps easier to build. Next to lay some textures down ;D edit: the above is on the smaller design

nice!!! I guess it is maybe too late, but i think that if you "unsquare" the rollcage the whole model will gain "dynamic" and loose "weight".... i mean: right now the cage remember a bit a jeep.... which it may intentional and the i'll shut up immediatly. If you build the front and back with a trapezoidal shape it will become a perfect sand buggy.

Hey sirrob!
Looking great!
You should see if Jim could texture this bad boy to match the Wolverine... or at least grab his color swatches.

Looking good sir!
BTW I love dune Buggies! And I am so glad to see something like this in paper. It will fill in quite a few niches for me. Namely: Apocalyptic Mad Max genre. And Modern/Near Future Combat/Racing scenarios.

Doing my best to match Jim's colours and fatigued/worn look . Texturing is quiet slow (I've got a fair bit to go), lots of experimenting etc, but once I've done one colour it's just a matter of adjusting the colour layer and I'm done I've made the panel depth thinner as this is just a thin skinned dune buggy. Parduz I've also got an alternate rollcage in the works Comments welcome

Thanks for the kind words and feedback good to know I'm on the right track Few more teaser pic's sorry still not done The tires are what I'm currently texturing so they are the least finished but the main chassis and seats are done other than the mud layer to be added to the chassis but I'm going to do that last. I'll try to have all textures done for the base model next time I post edit just noticed i have the tread gradient running the wrongway corrected it

It looks like you've really nailed the Terra Force vehicle texturing, sweet. ;D
Are you thinking of modding some TF infantry to be passengers and drivers in a similar manner to how Jim is making the seated bar patrons?

Yep I plan on trying to mod a guy into a sitting position and also one for a gunner so his arms can be folded forwarded to hold the MG I've got the texturing/shading done on the buggy so I just need to recombine all the parts to one page and into meaningful layers then run up the different colour schemes...the urban camo one I'm not sure I can match exactly but I should get close...I'm also planning a special dunebuggy colour scheme, sorry no Spider Standee . Once the aboves done, test build time and then instructions, going to try and mimic Jims language free instruction style. Then I'm back to standee's and drawing for a bit

I know I keep saying this almost done . Layered PDF all layed out, Colour schemes are Green, Desert, Woodland Camo, Urban Camo, Grey Body (these pretty closely match the wolverine) additionally Dark grey, Red and Blue, To overlay on the red and blue are some flames and a lightning skull scheme (Thanks Kane & Slick for providing inspiration for these last two;) ). few picys: The flame layout As it's a layered PDf you can do some interesting stuff Also got the TF Gunner and driver done (the driver wont be needing his base but I left it on for easy alignment etc). Driver Gunner (might flip his head the other way, so there not both looking the same way) Did a Red/Blue version of the driver to go with the non-mil schemes If I get I real motivated after I've finished the dunebuggy I might try and draw up some additional wierd and wacky drivers I'm off visiting parents this weekend but I'm taking the cutter and laptop with me and will try to get the Instructions etc done while away...hopefully

Excellent! Take your time with those final steps so it's all done just right. And wait until next week to release it if you can, otherwise I'll fall behind in my test builds as I'll be playing with your Buggy. ;D ;D
Query; Did you unfold this in pepakura or something similar? I've found that the pepakura dxf exports work nicely for RoboMaster layouts.
