Another robot idea I had. This time it's completely my work. Not a kitbash. Kinda got a steampunk vibe going and a side by side with the HTK

Cool, but is it a robot or battle armor? It kinda looks like there is a place for someone to pilot it from the inside. Like it either way, Dryw the Harper

Well I guess if someone wanted to, they could say there is a small pilot inside, but unless you've perfected miniaturized motors and engine technology there isn't going to be much space inside that shell.
Although, you've given me an idea for an alternative chest plate and optional "head" to go on top.

Although the Klunky resembles a 40K Killa Kan, it'd be really cool done up steampunk or with some fantasy-dwarven accoutrements.

Nice chipfoamplasticastofbits-o-bots!!! I bet they were a lot of fun to make and with a splash of paint they'll look awesome! There's something really cool about an army of one-of-a-kind junk bots!

Thank you. I really did enjoy maknig them.
I don't really enjoy painting minaitures though. If I don't have a clear idea of what I want them to look like going in, I just agonize over every detail. Those models are about 2 years old and are still unpainted.
Part of the reason I think I'm migrating to paper models is that I don't have to paint them. Coloring them digitally is still a bit agonizing for me, but I can make mulitple color schemes without ruing a model, and then just print my favorite.

I found the files for this model and I'm working on it for this months hoarde.
The legs have been completely redone and are now 3D and beefier.
I never liked the feet and I'm in the process of redesigning them.
The arms look relatively the same, but I've simplified their construction.

First test build of new design The legs were a wash. I miscalculated and had to redo them on the fly. Overall construction is now much more simple. There are fewer parts and much more straight forward construction. The head, and the face plate from the original design, are now optional parts. The new feet were a great success. They not only look better, they drastically improve the models stability. No base required.

Adam, you could probably do a robot that is similar to Streetbot Willy from Smart Max. It is kind of similar to what you are doing. I could see the round disk you made for the other robots as the head. Well just a random idea. Attachments:

That's a pretty cool little robot there. I could easily do something similar, and I probably will now...
Mostly, I was just trying to simplify the first Klunky. I originally used a limb attachment method similar to "Nobody"s designs. It worked, but it was labor intensive, and not the most intuitive method.

Something like this

That works. You might need a little more detail in the hip area. A 3D or 2.5D gun would be good if you have the time for it.

I've been making heavy use of Mel's Weapons Packs on arming my models. I've also used some of the weapons from the Downloads at Paper Modellers forum.
Granted, they won't have the same 'vibe' as these guys, but that's okay.
Some of Topo's Samsara weapons might look good with these guys.
