I've always loved your art David, from way back in the early GOO days. CHDH was brilliant.

Thanks so much. I was so lucky to get a crack at writing Cold Hands, Dark Hearts (CHDH) for Guardians of Order (GOO). It was my first book and I learned plenty from that experience. The pay was horrible, but it was good fun.

I'm finally starting to build these. Any posts of your builds of any of these sets would be great! It kind of keeps me interested in making these. I recently got ahold of a ton of very cheap (25 cents a piece cheap) Mageknight, horrorclix and heroclix that have been keeping me busy with re-basing and repainting so I haven't had as much time to work on the Trek stuff.

Okumarts -
Thanks for these great paper minis! I recently ran a 4 way game using the Federation, Klingon, and Romulan minis, and some Steve Jackson Games Cardboard Heroes, all searching for a downed spaceship crew - which I used your Gilligan's Island minis for! Everyone had a great time and loved your minis. Sorry I didn't get a chance to take pics.

I just discovered the WNMHGB rules which brought me to your paper minis.
FANTASTIC!!!!
I have been reluctant to start a STAR TREK TOS game for a lack of minis...but now.... well let me say that on monday my brother is coming over and he is gonna be surprised!
I eagerly await more of these fantastic game aids!!!!
my request, more alien crew and crewman in those red and blue jumpsuits. Also the civilians you hinted at.
P.S. your retro Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon guys will get some use as well!!
Thanks and keep up the good work!

Hey, thanks so much mightyeroc! I'm a bit backed up with some projects at the moment, but I have some more Trek goodness just waiting to fire out the door. I've been writing a skirmish ruleset to go with the cards and minis I'm developing for sale. It's been really fun developing the game, but really slow finalizing the rulebook. The rules will be free and I'll have to see about writing up the Trek characters. WNMHGB is an excellent rules set. I love that it emulates classic original series Trek as no other game I have played before can. It's quick to play and really fun!

My wife and daughter fought over who got to use the female Vulcan. My daughter was very distressed that there were no girls in blue shirts and pants also.
Anyway she settled on the female Red shirt. Tomorrow I am going to run my wife, daughter and brother through our first adventure in WNMHGB.

So due to an illness and my brother is a Law Man and had to catch bad-guys we have yet to play. However we are looking forward to it.
Also, what is the secret to cutting out the figures so nicely!?!? I spent hours with my x-acto knife, and well I cut them out but the look awful. Ugh.... I did print them out on cardstock. I have hunted around here on the site but haven't really found a good explanation.
Any help would be great!
Looking forward to more figures!

Hi mightyeroc!
I think the best thing you can do to make OK figs look great is to do what's called 'edging'.
Do this by taking a black Sharpie marker and running it around the edges of your figs. (I lay the fig down flat and trace around the front and then flip it and do the same on the back)
It's amazing how this simple procedure can really complete the model.

Mightyeroc, I find you have to use a really sharp xacto knife. Fresh blade, no fooling around. It also helps if the glue is totally dry. I've messed up more papercrafts cutting wet glue fergoshsakes. Fresh blade is key. Edging makes it look awesome too. You can even cover some uneven cutting if you like. I'm working on some commercial standees and a game for them, but I have a real soft spot for Trek Standees so I may just have to do more of them. Soon-like.

Actually, a lot! I have all these rulebooks: which are (not so) loosely inspired to the Star Trek ships. I still need to find good ships (good meaning little enough+nice enough+sturdy enough) to use for it.

Spaceship models would be awesome.
I'm still trying to find that game that is fun to play without requiring a huge investment of time to learn the rules, and lets you design interesting ships from the ground up.
Battlefleet Gothic was my game of choice for a bit, but it was never really intended for you to design your own ships. I picked up the PDFs for full thrust, but I could never just get into it. Someone a while back was working on a SOBH rules adaptation to Space Combat, but I don't think it ever got finished.
