Hi I have no idea if this is inappropriate to post like this or not. If so I apologize!
I came across your Minis via the Fat Dragon forums and promptly fell in love.
I was hoping I might be able to make a small request or obtain a commissioned set of minis from you.
My 7 yr old daughter and her girlfriends are going to be starting their first D&D game soon and I wanted to get my hands on a variety of female minis for them. No shops near me sell individual minis and I have no intention of buying the mini sets WOTC sells since they are so poorly set up for what I need. I finally settled on the idea of buying individual reaper minis for the girls when I came across your work.
So, here I am asking if you might be interested!

I've done a fair amount of requests, usually they get included into my Imperfect Adventurer sets. If you click on the Drywtheharper Projects you will find numerous threads with different types of figures, and most of the sets include female figures (from fighter types to magic types to priestesses to thieves and rouges). If you need something more specific simply leave a suggestion on the appropriate thread (much like a number of other people) and you might find it included in an upcoming set. Hope this is helpful Dryw the Harper

Hello! May I first begin by saying how Im a big fan of all of your minis. I LOVE them, so keep up the great work! Here are my requests. Do you think you can make halflings? I saw one in the forums but wasnt impressed. Also, will you be making more giants, such as hill giant, cave giant, water giant, thunder giant, sand giant, ect. I LOVED your giants, and I was inspired to make a HQ quest out of them, but I need more of different kinds. Also, I didnt see a half-orc, that would be nice, plus I dont think I saw a dwarf either. Maybe you did make a dwarf, maybe you didnt. Also, can you make trolls, or Tauren (World of warcraft) like characters? I could really, REALLY use those. Here is a link to Tauren: www.wowwiki.com/Tauren_%28playable%29images2.wikia.nocookie.net/zh.uncyclopedia/images/d/d7/Tauren.jpgThat's all I can think of. Thanks again for the awesome minis, and let me know if you can use these or not! Thanks!

Hi mo123813, That's lots of things to address. first, no I haven't made any Halflings as of yet, though you are not the first to request some and I am tinkering with the idea of a Short Person set. I have made a few Dwarves, they are spread about in the various Imperfect Adventurer Sets, including a Dwarf Priestess, a Dwarf Rouge, and a couple of Dwarf Warriors. I haven't done any Half-Orcs (yours is the first request). I found the One Monk Trolls to fit all of my needs so I haven't done any of my own (besides, I do terrible monsters). As for Tauren, look through the free monthly hordes, there is an excellent set of Minitaurs in armor with weapons that I think more than fit the bill for what I've seen of Tauren images (again, I'm terrible at monsters). I'm currently buried in a number of projects for my own game (which is where most of these pieces come from) but will probably complete another set of Imperfect Adventurers with a few "short people" for those who made such requests, and maybe I'll fit in a Half-Orc as well. Here are my requests. Do you think you can make halflings? I saw one in the forums but wasnt impressed. Jim has a female halfling rogue in his Heroes set. I agree that halflings and gnomes are a rarity. And when they do appear, the halflings look pudgy, hairy footed and Tolkienesque while the gnomes look like lawn ornaments. Jims Ogre Warband would work well for hill giants and cave giants. Just blow them up a titch. There is a half-orc in Jim's Goblinoid Monsters set Dryw has done several dwarfs. Check out his Imperfect Adventurers sets. Jim has an entire band of cave Trolls in his Warband section. Cheers,

I did not see any minotaurs in the monthly hoards in forums. Is this the right place?

Wrong place. You want to go to the Download page at the top bar of the normal home page, go to Forum Hordes 2009, and go to Horde 23 for the Minitaurs. Check out the rest of the free downloads while you are there. A great selection can be found. Dryw the Harper

Currently working on a Thieves' Guild set, which will include: Kracker - a Gnome Safecracker Digger - a Dwarf Breaking and Entering Specialist Ale-Ice - a Female Dwarven Rouge Snippit - a Female Halfling Cutpurse Grabbit - a Halfling Pickpocket, Snippet's partner Thwok - a Half-Orc Thug-Enforcer Jade - an Elven Jewel Thief Bauble - a Female Human "Distraction," Con Artist, and Pickpocket Whizzer - a Human Thief-Mage Edge - a Human Knife Specialist Regal - a Human Guildmaster (Quite a few "short people" and a Half-Orc for people to enjoy) When these are done I'll try sketching some Lizard-Men but I fear they will be no better than my attempt at Dragon-Born. Just not good at monsters. Dryw the Harper

Great list, Dryw. Some ideas for other crime guys - -spy/assassin/ninja -smuggler -flamboyant charlatan and his charming female assistant which sells hair growing water? -dock workers? (I am not sure about these, but in media dock workers are often connected with organized crime) I am looking forward to your next set. Keep on your good work.

I like the idea of a denisens of the dockyards set: - dock workers carrying crates and bales - disreputable looking sailers - "foreign" sailers (Turks, Numidians, Cathayans, etc.) - grizzled old sailers - sleezy merchant - working women - fish mongers

Fishing net makers, actual fishermen, a cargo inspector and his guardsman... Probably a couple of sets could be done along the lines of those found at the docks. Dryw the Harper Oh, only two more thieves left to finish and then my Imperfect Thieves' Guild will be ready for laying-out.

OKay, I have even more Ideas. My first are Elemental Golems. I really liked your giants, plus the golems don't require a lot facial details. Like Earth Golem, Ice Golem, ect. Another idea I had was a underwater set. For example, Merpeople, Seahorse riders, sea elves, ect. Something to go with the Ship Crews, and something I think people would love to play as or add to their collection. My last Idea is my favorite, but may be the most difficult in a way. A mount set. You make the mounts, (Horse, Dragon, Giant wolf, Huge bird, ect.) then here's the thing with the people to ride them. I'd make them as if they are facing you instead from a side like the others, and have an area for people to cut in between their legs as a slit to change mounts. If it doesn't make sense, let me know. A viking or Necromancer guild perhaps? Those are my ideas, hope they help.

I have been rewriting a vast amount of my game due to player character free will. I have the fronts of eight Pirates inked but have yet to do the backs or color them now that I have to play catch-up with my story (a typical tale of a bunch of heroes out to prevent the forces of evil from opening a Demon Gate that would bring the infernal to the world. Sadly, due to poor choices and character mistakes, they failed and the Gate was opened and now I must rewrite many towns, cities, and other places to reflect the devastation). Don't worry, my wife is gently prodding me to finish the Pirates. Dryw the Harper

great to hear that your campaign is going so well. (when players are creative and doing their own things its always "going well". Dont stress to relaese the pirates. We are all still cutting and assembling your other mini sets. Just one idea. Maybe you are planning to make a uncolored download for some of your other sets like you did for soldiers? This would be super.

Sadly, the vast bulk of Imperfect People were colored before I ever scanned them in. Now that I've seen the recolors of my Imperfect Soldiers blanks done for the Horde (very impressive recolors) I might be tempted to scan in the inkwork before I color them in so others can play with them. Perhaps I'll start with the Pirates when I ink the backsides.

Sadly I spent a few hours trying to create blanks and mods for some of the Arab type figures for a crusades game, and found it very near impossible without redrawing each figure. So somewhat dis-heartened I gave up and I have gone onto something else for my cowboy town game. I think your figures have a great personality and individuality that comes out of the paper. Thankyou

Actually, a good chunk of the Arabic figures were done in a creation different style and I may still have blanks of them somewhere. I'll take a look when I get a chance.

Hi, Dryw. Would you consider making Dark Sun PC minis? I, like many others, am coordinating the new D&D Encounters Dark Sun adventure. WOTC is hasn't introduced any new Dark Sun minis and the old ones are hard to find; and I prefer to use paper minis in any case. If you are interested in the challenge, I'm sure many people would love to see what you come up with. It's particularly hard to find paper minis of bald gladiator types. Here are some resources if you are interested. dmgaming.pbworks.com/Dark-Sun-Racesworlds.wikidot.com/weaponswww.wizards.com/dnd/files/DDEDark%20SunCharacters.pdfI made up this Thri-Kreen mini using the art of someone with the initials RCH. Does anyone know who RCH is/was?
