Taken a little longer than I thought to get back to a semi-normal life/home routine and I've been working on some old lego projects which has taken up the little bit of free time I had. Started work on some one off stuff that will hopefully fit in with MDRG to try get back into the drawing swing before I finish up the fox guys and flyer . Hopefully I'll have some WIP shots to post later tonight.

Still working on the below, but it's a start plan on doing a scotch thistle and a random grass guy as well. Probably a few different poses of each.

Thanks both, good to see you back to Squirmydad. I've decided to go back to practicing a bit more, I'm not real happy with how the above turned out I got real lucky with the fox's . I followed a tut over at: www.how-to-draw-cartoons-online.com/how-to-draw-darth-vader.htmland ended up with a fairly accurate duplication of Vader, Then I did the same thing for a Stormtrooper. These were just for practice . Front views only don't think I'll do rears unless someone really wants them. I'm going to practice some 3/4 angel views tomorrow.

The monkey works well as a drawing, but if you make it into a mini, it may be too delicate? Although you could add a much larger black boarder around it for strength. The heads are good and the anime styling should work really well when printed at 30mm scale.

Those are nice! The monkey is very dynamic. I agree that it may need some "mechanical" care. About the head, the first thing that comes in my mind is Kronk: from Disney. Dunno if this is a Manga style... but i may be obsolete enough to not know how Manga are now; for me, "Manga" means Naruto, Ghost in the Shell or even Lady Oscar style

The first thing I thought of was Disney's Hercules! (Funny that two 40 year old guys saw your work and IMMEDIATELY thought "Disney")!
Good job, Sir Rob!

yah it should have more of a disney look, but the eye's/hair might be more mangaery, looking at to many differing styles... yeh the neck on the monkey/goblin might be an issue but I dropped the rear of his helmet down and front jaw area in a bit hoping that once the 10pt border was added it would turn into a thickened area of black...of course he may then look disembodied Thanks for the comments I'm thinking about doing a few mini's in the above style as I prefer the exaggerated look to them, not sure how they'll turn out as mini's,but I figure it's worth a go...fitting them into what I already want to complete is whole other issue

Give it a go! You can always change styles again later if it doesn't look right to you. Have fun! ;D

WOW! meets ;D ;D It is very nice, and i may use thousand of figures with this style with kids. And maybe it can be printed larger than 28mm to make figures for younger.... maybe at the size of that old He-Man... this kind of figure have lot of potential uses. From this point of view (kids use), as a suggestion/request/hope, IF the figure pose/look does not suffers a lot, do you think that it is possbile to design the figures to have not that "hole" between the head, the arm and the sword? So the kid will have not to cut that "hole"....

Actually, that scale wouldn't be good for gaming, but to have "paper action figures" at that scale! FANTASTIC IDEA! You know the kinds of details you could get out of something like that? We are talking about interchangable hands that are holding various weapons and equipment... Ok. Before I get too carried away... I an taking this idea, and laying it on the ground and walking away... I am NOT looking back, and have my fingers in my ears because I am lot listening to it calling my name... TOO MANY THINGS that are partially finished... I not listening.. I'm NOT listening...
