Thanks for link, not really what i was after to be honest. Unfortunately there was never any miniatures released as far as i'm aware and the only solution is to pay some kind soul, a comission job for these figures on this site Appreciation. Jeff

Out of curiosity, what is the going rate for a comission job on this site? Cheers Jeff

Sorry... I am BOOKED SOLID for quite a while... (not that my work is great, or anything...) I would love to attempt to tackle it, but I am swamped. BTW, I have never asked for a fee to do anything, but then again, my work is.. well, you get what you pay for with me...

Looks like fun but we have quite a few things we need to get done. Really you might try doing a paper mini yourself. There is a lot of help over in the ' Designing Figures' thread and even a tutorial on how Jim does/did his paper minis. Maybe if you get one or two done then other people might help you out or you find that it's not quite as daunting as it seems. Really it just takes time.

When this first came up in August I didn't think it was my cup of tea but now I'm thinking I could do some conversions of my 2.5d figs. JeffB, are you still wanting these figs?

I'd say a little harder lines and I'm not quite sure what's going on with the feet but I like his hair.

What is a "hard line" (politics aside : ) Do you mean the line between his belt and his shirt should have a hard edge rather than fuzzy? I'll post a test build pick so you can see "what is going on with his feet."

Not to speak for Nik, but I *think* that what he *might* be saying is that many figures here that work best have dark lines that seem to "border" a figure.
A CLASSIC example of this is DARKMOOK's figures. They have a very dark, black border on them. This makes it easier for the figures to stand out against a background, and easier to cut out for the modeller.
But then again, that is *MY* interpretation of what he might be saying, and if nothing else, that is MY thought on the figure.

I'm glad you mentioned that. The reason I bill myself as "Iconoclast and heretic" is that I am against the black border. Especially in this case, as it is a 2.5d fig. 3d figs don't have black borders. When I find the cable to my camera, I'll post some pics of my test build. I think it looks OK. Edit: Still no luck finding a cable to match a camera that works

Making some progress without a camera. Robin himself this time. It is trying to be Michael Pread above but the highlights I tried to put in his hair made him go grey. I'm thinking about another pose with a bow, but I'm not sure how to make it work. robin front by cowboyleland, on Flickr Can anyone tell me how to take all the notches out of his sword in GIMP?

Hooray! Someone likes it. You are MY king, which makes me ver . . Hey! I realise I can trim down the heads a bit, they end up overlapping a lot. Little John's neck needs to be longer and thinner to fold the chin. Tuck and Myriam are next on my list, then I'll quit unless I hear someone wants more. I have no use for this "Merry Band" myself just now.

Ah yes... I see now what you mean. Disregard what I said and carry on.
But really, I was just talking about a thicker black line inside the drawing itself. The more defined lines bring out the different elements of a drawing. Making it look more 3-d in a sense and easier to see at a distance. But since you're doing 'non-flat' anyway, I think it will look fine when finished. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the encouragement. I may darken some of the inner shading.
My drawing and gimp skills leave a lot to be desired generally. If anyone with more skills in those areas would like to do a re-colour or re-design I would love to see if they might turn out as well as I imagine, rather than as well as I can manage.
I was busy this weekend but I hope to get back to it soon.
Cheers

Well, it took a while to get back to it, and Miriam with a bow didn't work out. I did get rid of some grey hairs and added a friar. As Dryw would say: please rob from the rich responsibly. Merry Men by cowboyleland, on Flickr and excuse the black border WTF?
