Hello, Is there a way to make recessed panels in Gimp? There are several ways to make raised ones, but I'm having trouble making the recessed ones. I can draw them manually, but it is time consuming. Any Tips would be welcomed.
Thanks, Tom.

hmm you need a plugin...which one...found it I think, pretty sure this is the one I use: registry.gimp.org/node/186?page=1Gives you the usual range of up down inner outer bevels and a few others. Once installed it appears under the script-fu menu, next to filters I'm running it using Gimp 2.6 with no issue.

Well I have it installed now, but it seems to only work on lettering and the perimeter of the image (That is, the whole page). It ignores the select area box tool. I'm I doing something wrong?

It works by layer so you'll need to split your window on to it's own layer with a transparent background, then run the bevel emboss filter on the new window layer. Let me know if that makes zero sense and I'll run up a couple of screenshots, I'm doing a fair bit of bevel embossing myself at the moment

Thinking about it as you want an inner bevel
~add a new layer ~ draw a square the size of your window and fill it with black ~ Outer bevel (down) the above layer ~ delete your black square layer and your window should now look sunk in.
Hope that helps
