Local file storage possible?

I'm a bit worried: ppl here are very creative, and produce a lot of files that, right now, are spread in a thousand of site, both commercial or personal.

I'm a member of other "creative" forums (the italian Heroquest forum, as example) and i always feel sad when, searching for something, i then discover that the all the links are dead and the files missed forever.... think at what we've lost when Geocities closed....

I fear the same for this forum and so i'm asking: there's any chance to have a file storage HERE? maybe a personal user gallery, but any way to place the files here will be an insurance against lost art, minis and models.

I don't know what it means in terms of cost for storage space, bandwith and maybe hardware, but it will be nice to have it.

I for one think that's a good idea. It's a bit of a project, but it could certainly be done. Now who can we rope into doing it? I volunteer Nik for the job.
